Not sure if anyone else remembers this band from the 1980’s, but I had always hoped they would have been bigger than U2. Apparently, someone out there agrees and ranks their “Reconciled” as the #24 Greatest Christian Album of All Time:

I had no idea The Call’s “I Still Believe” was played on CCM-format radio. Is that really true?

“Let The Day Begin” is another song by The Call one of the later albums that’s equally inspiring (lyrics practically taken from Ecclesiastes):

I remember the Call. They used to get a fair bit of airplay back in the day. The two songs I remember, I Still Believe and Let the Day Begin are great songs. Thanks for bringing this up, you can listen to them on YouTube.

I remember enjoying both the songs Wildekurt mentions and remember them getting a fair amount of airplay.

I think I first heard “I Still Believe” in the Tim Cappello cover version that was on the “Lost Boys” soundtrack, then later looked up the version by The Call and realized what it was about. Ironic that a song about Calvary shows up in a movie about teen vampires, being played on the saxophone by a bare-chested muscle man on the beach! youtube.com/watch?v=RzXuuxnp08o

A friend also said it was the song that was always running through his head as inspiration to get through Hell Week in Navy SEAL training.

I think I’ve heard the second song recently. Unless it’s been used in a commercial or is on a movie soundtrack it’s getting airplay on secular radio.

I recall liking “The Walls Came Down”. Thanks all for the music links.👍
