Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A situation in my life requires the faith and persistence of the Canaanite woman. Sometimes, unfortunately, I begin to lose hope in that situation and wonder if I’m just foolish to believe that things will work out in that area of my life. Have you ever found yourself being tested by God in the way of the Canaanite woman? Please feel free to share your stories here. I hope this will inspire others who are being asked by God to “wait a little longer.”

Yes, I’ve been praying for years for my husband, and now my son, to return to the Catholic faith. My husband still considers himself Catholic, but won’t bother to go to church. My son says he no longer is Catholic, but he hasn’t taken up with any church and just doesn’t go to church, period. His wife is a Baptist, and really a wonderful person, she doesn’t go to church either. God does not seem to have a place in their lives.

All I can do is continue to pray for them. God is going to have to open their hearts.
