Can someone recommend a book or article (online or offline) on the canon of the Old Testament, specifically one that defends the canonicity of the deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament?
In addition to his book, Gary Michuta has a website here:Can someone recommend a book or article (online or offline) on the canon of the Old Testament, specifically one that defends the canonicity of the deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament?
Gary was also a guest on Kresta in the Afternoon on September 7, 2007.Gary was a guest on the Journey Home on 8/6/7. He talked about his book then (show #8 in the archives):

scripturecatholic.com/the_church.htmlI haven’t read all the articles and books above yet (so my questions below might be answered in the above articles and/or books), but I thought I would ask a few questions about the topic.
From a Catholic perspective, which authority is higher? The Bible or the Church or are both equal?
Would you prove the Church’s authority from the Bible? If so, how would you prove the canon of the Bible from the authority of the Church without circular reasoning?
How would you defend the authority of the Church and the canon of the Bible without circular reasoning?
My questions above might be confused but I think you get the point?
Again, thanks everyone for the above links and replies.
From a Catholic perspective, the Bible and the Church are not in competition with each other. The Bible comes from God the Holy Spirit through the Church–it wasn’t handed to us directly from God. Catholics consider Sacred Scripture as God’s revelation.I haven’t read all the articles and books above yet (so my questions below might be answered in the above articles and/or books), but I thought I would ask a few questions about the topic.
