At Mass today Father Joseph urged us to pray for “the Cardinals”.

I would be happy to pray, not just for the Cardinals, but also the Holy Father, the Bishops, and all the clergy!

Our deacon started off by telling us it’s the fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Also known as Superbowl Sunday.

Depends on the context.

Could be birds, could be sports teams, could be the members of the Catholic clergy that elect the Pope.

Actually, at the time I posted the original statement, which was several months ago, the priest that made the statement said it at Superbowl time. It could have pertained to either the sports team or the College of Cardinals that elect the Pope. The Pope is selected from the College of Cardinals. The official office of the Pope and all the Cardinals is Bishop.
