I couldn’t be bothered reading thru like 28 pages of this but i just wanna share that on friday, after Communion, i was praying 2 Jesus, thanking him for giving me the fortitude 2 bow my head+receive on the tongue. He said “It’s time now, you can do it, and it will be easy”. I couldn’t believe it. He was giving me the courage to go to the doc+ have my contraceptive device removed! Even tho I’m celibate it’s still wrong. It’s taken months for me to feel this way. I’ve booked an appointment and it will be out of my body on friday 2nd sept. 2 months ago a priest said i should have it removed but not to rush it. I didn’t know how long it would take. Now its happened. I carried on receiving in the meantime because the intention to eventually get the device removed was there. Anyway, I’m doing this, not because i want to, but because God wants me to+he’s giving me the strength 2 do it!
I think God always gives us the grace to follow His will if we sincerely desire to follow His will and pray that we desire only His will.

Praise be to God for this grace He now bestows on you.

So regardless of the misery, heartbreak, agony and pain you have caused others, you go straight to heaven and have a great time in heaven, while those on earth have to suffer because of the terrible harm you have done to them?
If there is still the remnant of self-love that needs to be purged then we go through purgatory. Only the stainless go straight to heaven.

if you were trying to do good. and your heart and intentions were in the right direction yes. when we die we go to heaven. are main reason for beliving this is that the only signs of purgatory are in the old testament before jesus died for our sins. when he died for our sins all the sins we do from that poin on have been paid for. so long as we belive in christ.
It doesn’t seem right that the people you hurt are still suffering horribly on earth, while you are enjoying the bliss of heaven. Purgatory makes more sense in cases like this.

Purgatory makes sense in the old testament yes. since Jesus had not died for us. once he died he payed for all our sins. If they are already payed for why would we have to pay for them still?

I don’t see where he did away with personal responsibility.

he didnt but purgatory isnt to pay for personal responsibility its for our sins.

You say purgatory is where we go so that we can pay/suffer for our sins.

I say Jesus died for my sins so i do not have to suffer for them.

this would also explain why we dont pray for the dead. why pray for someone who is celebraiting in heaven.

show me where in the bible it mentions anything remotley representing purgatory, or even praying to the dead, but not the old testament.

This topic has been covered extensively in the past on CAF as well as catholic.com in general. See these:

These will answer your questions.

Such misconceptions clearly show why Jesus gave us His Church to teach us and why neglecting His Church leads us into error. Private interpretation of the Sacred Scriptures has produced some 40,000 sects.
Jesus redeemed us, and we are saved when we live His teaching, repent of any sins and die without mortal sin. Then we are made clean for heaven through Purgatory.

The words Trinity and Bible are not in the Bible, but we believe because the Catholic Church teaches the Trinity and it is the Catholic Church which has given us the Bible as the Word of God.

Of course the N.T. teaches about Purgatory:
Mt 12:32 – “whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” Thus Jesus Himself teaches that there are other sins that are pardoned after death.

Mt 12:36 – “on the day of judgment, men will render account for every careless word they utter.” Obviously careless words don’t merit Hell but there is a penalty for them, Jesus warns – thus a place of temporal punishment – Purgatory.

2 Tim 1:16-18 – St Paul prays for Onesiphorus himself: “may the lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that Day.” This is prayer for the dead.
