So I have been wondering about what the Catechism says about porn. Well I know what it does say but does it say anything about cartoon porn. I only ask because in the Catechism seems to say something broad about it but it sound like it only talk about living people.

I do think this is sort of rhetorical because there is such a thing as Hentai porn but i just want to be thorough on my understanding .

Cartoon porn is still porn. It’s purpose is to stimulate you to masturbate. It’s a sin. End of lesson.

The reason the Catechism is written in general terms is so it can stretch to cover unforeseen things - like cartoon porn. It isn’t vague so you can find the loophole.

Cathechism of the Catholic Church
2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes.
One can receive sexual pleasure through cartoon porn, hence cartoon porn leads to lust
2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.
This includes cartoon porn since it would be falling under simulated sexual acts.

Pornography is a broad category, which includes the display of real or simulated sexual acts out of their proper context and use. This would encompass “real people” porn, cartoon porn, furry porn, robot porn, and anything else you might think of. Porn is porn, and it’s never acceptable. 😉

“Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public)” (CCC, 2354, bold added)

Is it not possible that here we are talking only about some thing including real people?

At the same time, when speaking of sexual cartoons, one might point to another part of the Catechism.

“Purity of heart brings freedom from widespread eroticism and avoids entertainment inclined to voyeurism and illusion.” (CCC 2525, bold added)
