The Catholic church did not give us the Bible

…unless you also want to say that the Catholic church gave us the inquisition and the priest sex abuse scandals.

The point being that you can not take credit for the positive while at the same time pass the buck on the negative. A little consistency on this please.

Maybe in your church only but not in mine or others. The RCC did not give anyone the Bible, they merely said this or that book would be in their version of the Bible. Also the early Christian not catholic nor believed in any silliness like the modern RCC

Q: Who heard Christ teachings? A: The Apostles.
Q:Who preached Christ teachinds after his passion was achieved? A: The Apostles.
Q: Who recorded Christ words? A: The Apostles
Q: So who and what was the church in the beginning? A: The Apostles.
Q: Who recorded the Bible/ New Testament? A: The Apostles.

The Apostles were the living Church then, just as we are the living Church today.
Do you see where I am taking this?

Of course we do. But you see that the Apostles were the Church back then.
Which Church did they establish? It certainly was not one of the thousands of denominations that exist today. If you casually look up the history of christianity you will see that every christian denomination on earth today did come from the Catholic Church in the beginning. There was no Church before there was the Catholic Church.

There were Churches before the Catholic Church (CC), I do not believe the Apostles set up a Church as a central repository like the Catholic Church is today. I do believe that the Apostles followers started to setup a centralized church and it morphed into what the CC is today.

I have studied much Christian History and I found none of the claims that Catholics make here. There never was 100 percent unity and never 100 percent united behind one Church. Human nature being what it is would preclude that from being a possibilty, I don’t believe the claims of the modern Catholic apologist on the forum because history does not bear this out.

Anyway I don’t wish to get into an argument, it is what it is. Those who believe the CC is the end all of Christendom will always be that way.
