Its not an insult to be a Protestant! I have a family full of them! Why are you in such vehement opposition to this?
correct, as Protestant is a separate denomination from them. However, and read it SLOWLY, Non-denominational:Acoording to dictionary .com a Protestant is defined as any Western Christian who is not an adherent of a Catholic, Anglican, or Eastern Church. Sorry to disappoint you.
because it is inaccurate. How would you like me to insist you are a Mormon? Its not an insult to be a Protestant! I have a family full of them! Why are you in such vehement opposition to this?
hardly…that is just more Catholic rhetoric. With guys like cooldude as yourapologist, you need no help from meMy feelings on these types or that they’ve heard anti-catholic stuff for quite awhile and believe it all… they then believe anything a Catholic says is false no matter how much evidence there is to back it up… The biggest thing I think is that they’ve never met Catholics who can defend their accusations so when they happen on to CAF they expect the same… well when they get so many Catholics that know their stuff (not me) they get frustrated and sadly we see the results of this frustration on ths thread.

no, but nice try at semantics, but error is still error, and you are wrong. You can be happy placed in a box all you like, dont stick that on me though.Agian, I am a Western Rite Catholic. THere is no possible connection between the two. You are defined by your theology, not the name on your church. If my church was called the First CHurch of the Leprechaun, but I adhered to Catolic thology, I would be a Catholic. You adhrere to Protestant theology, therefore a Protestant.
Why should we expect Protestants to know the Truth of Catholicism when we allow Catholics not to know the faith or Church History?
If we could get the #*@# Catholics to learn the faith, the Protestants would have more access to knowledgable Catholics, giving us more knowledgeable Protestants. We should start with Politicians who attend Catholic Churches at least once every two years, at election time and work our way up.
cooking cats? you are a strange individual to come with an analogy like that! I was able to view them from my screendoor, just opennd the screen. I think my scope is not aligned properly anymore, though. The image was not good.Is there any such thing as a nondenominational Catholic or Orthodox? Is there, in fact, any nondemoninational Christian who does not ‘protest’ some teaching of the Catholic and Orthodox churches? If you weren’t protesting, you’d BE Catholic or Orthodox.
As for ‘naming things’. . .if my cat had kittens in my oven, I could CALL them ‘muffins’ instead of kittens but that wouldn’t actually make the kittens muffins.
Call yourself ‘not affiliated with a church’ but that doesn’t mean that you popped up out of a vacuum. You protest Catholic and Orthodox teachings, but you’re not protesting Protestant teachings. . .so while you can cheerfully say you aren’t a member of an established Protestant denomination. . .you’re still a Protestant in your theology and beliefs.
That was a SHORT TRIP to see Venus and Jupiter, BTW.
General reading about Catholisism? Is taht what you are asking?Thank you…exactly what I was thinking. I, the protestant, want more access to knowledgable Catholics to help me understand where our faiths diverge. I am not anti-catholic but I am ignorant to its teachings. I am not catholic bashing, and hope not to be snubbed because I am not Catholic by faith. I look forward to learning more. Suggested reading???
you really cant be without a label, huh? fine, call me whatever you like.“protestant” isn’t exaclty a “box”…Methodists, Luterans, Presbetyrians, and Baptists are all Protestants and all very different
Thank you!!you really cant be without a label, huh? fine, call me whatever you like.
The world works in labels. FOr example, I am caucasian. I don’t look at race as an important issue. I do not judge people by their race. I really wish we did not use reace-based labels. But that does nothing to changfe tha fact that I am a caucasian.you really cant be without a label, huh? fine, call me whatever you like.
funny, I look at the person instead of the race. Must be me…The world works in labels. FOr example, I am caucasian. I don’t look at race as an important issue. I do not judge people by their race. I really wish we did not use reace-based labels. But that does nothing to changfe tha fact that I am a caucasian.
