Bottom line, I left your church, and have been free in the Gospel ever since. Keep to your antiquated power grab man made doctrines, but I will have none of it, and have nothing but contempt for it. It has been a political power, a torturing institution, a money hoarding venture, a venue for scandals of all kinds, a home for doctrinal error parting with Scripture. Keep it.

The issue here is not the papacy…it is your assertion that we should have to support Christian doctrine by scripture alone, which is already proving to be unscriptural and so is rejected by knowledgeable Catholics.

So you can say whatever you please, but since Sola Scriptura itself is an unscriptural error, you will either have to prove your case from both scripture and the writings of the early church or forget it.

That’s how the New Testament teaches that we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God, so that’s the real New Testament standard of proof.
 
Sorry, I reported that last. Arguments are one thing, even ones I disagree with. . .but you didn’t argue. You made false accusations and presented them as truths. They are not. I am sorry you have been so blinded and I pray you will see the light. May God guide you.

Newsflash…of course it is rejected by Catholics! I have, however, not seen it proved unscriptural by you or anyone else. I gave a link with a TON of info on it, you could not have read it so quickly, which is not surprising.

quote where they are called this elsewhere in the gospels…as compared to Simon whom Jesus called Peter.every time Simon is refered to,he is called Peter.
calling me a pagan does nothing to prove that the book you call holy is indeed the word of God…i want you to prove instead of insulting me…
i was going to post an apology to you, after i found St.Mark3:17.but what does that matter now since i am a pagan i could call you an insulant snot and it wouldn’t matter a thing. but since i am a christian of the first rank,and bound by His word i can only forgive you for your insulting me.
BTW you still can’t tell me why Jesus named Simon,Peter

I never said anyone has, but just cause people condemn me doesn’t mean I am marked for hell, jsut means they condemn me.

What doctrinal error? I just need to have only one thing to think about to decide if you could be on to something. Just one thing.

Do they condemn you personally, or maybe a theology you are endorsing? I know I am asking a lot of questions of you, but I really have to ask because I have non catholic friends who have said this too, but they really don’t distinguish the difference.

What I mean is, some people desire everything to be explicit in scripture or they will reject it. Others, only reject what directly goes against scripture, but don’t condemn all things not explicit in it.
Let’s just say even non catholics do this. Not naming any denominations for now…

Neither is substantiated in Scripture…Scripture which was written way after the events…you would think the Scripture writers would have mentioned them specifically.

Deceived persons often think they are free when they are not. The Lord Jesus Christ tells us that “You will know the truth and the truth will make you free”, so how can you be free outside of teh truth that He taught His apostles and that has been handed down faithfully from them for 2,000 years? 🤷
