I am not a christian but desire to become catholic. I am not playing any side. I read the bible, and I am really serious when I ask you if its scriptural to talk to someone like that.
You may not like catholic doctrine, but you have a lot to learn about the teachings in the bible about how to speak to another while proclaiming the hope you have.

I want to see the Scripture that says that everything that Jesus said and taught is to be found, explicitly, in Scripture alone.

Wonder what will happen when somebody tries to find this scriptural passage?

Deceived persons often think they are free when they are not. The Lord Jesus Christ tells us that “You will know the truth and the truth will make you free”, so how can you be free outside of teh truth that He taught His apostles and that has been handed down faithfully from them for 2,000 years? 🤷
Sorry, but the man made doctrines are those that came into being some 500 years ago and are still errors from which even more and worse errors are cascading down from today. If I show you that what you have been taught is an error and your reject it, your blood be on your own head. :(This line right here is enough to get you reported and possibly banned here.

Since you offer nothing but your arrogant, misguided opinions, we are done here. You have been sorely mislead into returning to a backsliding church. The loss is yours. You have NOT refuted my belief system, as much as you think you did. Being a legend in your own little mind means nothing.

Newsflash…of course it is rejected by Catholics! I have, however, not seen it proved unscriptural by you or anyone else. I gave a link with a TON of info on it, you could not have read it so quickly, which is not surprising.

I have studied the teachings that supposedly support Sola Scriptura including the so-called classic treatise of A.A. Hodge which I am in the process of writing a refutation of, so I really don’t need to read any more of the tons of other teachings of men on this errant doctrine.

Like Ecclesiastes says there is nothing new under the sun…
 
Backsliding church? Then you must have some documents that show that the Church once taught something, and then ‘backslid’. By definition. One cannot ‘backslide’ unless one was already doing something and then stopped doing it or started doing something completely different.

I’d love to see the documentations on this one. . .

Quit whining and :crying: and either deal with the issue or admit that you’re out of your depth because you expected a bunch of dumb know nothing pew warmers and instead found yourself among people who know the Bible as well or better than you do and have been refuted. Better go back to your pastors and teachers and those a-C books and videos and see if they can offer anything new that might salvage your faith in their errant teachings of men.

I sure can’t tell from the wonderful and charitable witness I have seen in you! When you cannot deal with the factual argument set before you you resort to vitriolic polemics without substance.

Go back and tell your preachers and teachers that the Catholics know the Bible and that they will not listen to you when you “witness” and that it makes you angry that you are not better catechized than this when they promised you that they Holy Spirit was leading them in their teachings.

Sorry… but that sounds more like your problem than mine. I did my own homework, studying to show myself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. That’s why I’m a Catholic.

I am still wondering, if you only condemn what directly goes against scripture that is explicit, or if you also condemn anything not explicity mentioned in it.
