There are people that separate themselves from any organized church…they say that they have a personal relation ship with God…JUST THEM AND JESUS.

How do I show them that the Catholic church is necessary, that they can’t just pray and read there bible on there own???

Jesus said two or three people gather together under His name, He will be with them. Human are social beings, no human can exist without other human. Also, the definition of church is “A collection of people being called by God”. So, although anyone is expected to always communicate to God in a private prayer, but a prayer together with others in a community cannot be forgotten.

I would be careful in how you phrase that argument though, because ultimately, it could invalidate aspects of the hermetic tradition.

The gathering of believers can be spiritual rather than physical. A hermit may not be with anyone else as he or she prays, but you can be sure that they are hoping that their prayers are united with the prayers of others.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to the sacraments. If we take Jesus’s words literally, we must eat flesh and drink his blood. Only through the reception of communion can accomplish this.
