If you have not looked at this new site, it will be worth your while.

The Original Catholic Encyclopedia put online by Catholic Answers. This is just so cool.

One thing that I find extremely helpful is the “Curricula” area. Important topics, often discussed here, are review in detail and with great depth.

I would like to extend my personal and public thanks to Catholic Answers for making this wonderful resource accessible and for the advanced organization and the features they added.

May I ask what’s the difference between the encyclopedia on that site and this one at newadvent.org/cathen/ ?

This was scanned, rather than being transcribed and “updated”. The actual scanned pages are available for viewing.

Also, some of the material,. while available in its original form, has also been reorganized into “curricula” to make make certain topical studies eaiser.

Some of the key points are described (in general) here:
Why build this site?

Essentially we knew there was a need for a complete, authoritative reproduction of The Catholic Encyclopedia. So our goal was to make the Original Catholic Encyclopedia site the best-in-class.

By providing both article text and article scans, the reader can confirm the accuracy of the material. If an issue is found, there is a reporting mechanism at the bottom of every article that sends a report directly to our techs.

And because of the wealth of material in that work, it lends itself to rich feature development. We have many, many features in progress.

Many thanks. I’ve had a chance to look it over and I’ve now switched bookmarks to use the CA one.

It is a nice change of pace for me (and a great relief) to have the Forum Admin post on one of my threads and they are not scolding me.

🙂
