Well, it’s Holy Thursday, so I would like to wish every one Christian (including everyone Catholic) a very good Paschal Triduum. Happy Resurrection Day, and God bless you all, whoever you are. Peace be with you!
Thanks, Lapell! God bless you too.

Well I’ve only been posting here for a few days and some people are very polite and considerate. And some other people are very rude and obnoxious–insulting me, insulting my faith, insulting women (and me, as a woman), and making a mockery of the beliefs of other religions.

I’m curious how anyone can act that way and say he is guided. I don’t think it’s a Catholic teaching to insult non-Catholics.

So I’m wondering what the real teachings are.

I am a Muslim, and the Qur’an says in a few different places to treat people (non-Muslims) with kindness and justice, and to argue in the way that is best, and not to mock God or anyone’s concept of God.

Are there no teachings in Catholicism about how to talk to people of other faiths?
So the worse Catholics are rude to you and your ‘religion’?

Consider that to Catholics, and other non-muslims, the worst that they get is torture and death from muslims. The best is taqiyya/kithman from ‘peaceful’ muslims. And actually, the best we can hope for is a bad muslim because they are the ones who are not deceiving us.

What you are also saying about ‘mocking god’ is that you want us to accept your allah and your prophet as legitimate and not question their being a god, or mohammed being a prophet. That is the only ways muslims are able to deal with things. They cannot even deal with a man who apologizes to muslims before he tells them their own texts to prove the rogue that mohammed was. that man is Father Botros who has a fatwa against him and are bashed by muslims all the time. I guess that is ok though, right?🤷

Look at Geert Wilders. He has a film with muslim texts on it and how the muslims follow those texts and he has to have 24 hour guards.

Oh, and not a peep out of the ones such as yourself, and other ‘peaceful’ muslims that such behavior is uncalled for. The only peeps we hear out of all the ‘peaceful’ ones is when their terrorists - hamas - are attacked back after years of lobbing bombs into Israel. over 6,000 bombs lobbed - not a peep.

And the same old thing - the muslims broke the truce by lobbing bombs into Israel starting yesterday.

But, that is besides the point, right? We are just supposed to lie down, accept whatever junk that is shoveled to us and that is what would make you happy, right?

forget it. :nope:

Of course you are not going to like what most of us have to say.

Hi

I am amused with this light conversation.

Thanks

Sorry for my Catholic brothers and sisters who do not know the teachings of the Church. Maybe they are not Catholic? or I should convert to Islam. The prove of it is the fact that more than 50% of US Catholics voted for the most pro-abortionist president in US history.

So rude!! And you dare to call yourself Catholic? Do you know that the word Allah is with the capital “A”. Such a disrespect to Muslims. Thy is is not what the Church teaches us.

Well, considering we are not supposed to break the 10 Commandments - I don’t blame R_not for not recognizing Allah as a god. It is not the same God of Israel. A little reading on your part and you would recognize that.

I don’t know what is rude about that post. This is what islam is all about - deception, etc. They broke the truce AGAIN (how many times since 9/11 have they broken their truces!) with Israel last week. They riot over Geert Wilder’s film that has surahs in it and how the muslims are carrying out those surahs.

Muslim texts that command deception:
Suras 16:106, 3:28, 40:28, 2:225, 66:2
hadiths Bukhari 52:269, 49:857, 84:64-65, 52:271
from Islamic law Reliance of the Traveler (p. 746)

Have you noticed the 11-month (and 3 days) gap between R_not’s post and the one preceeding it (Booklover’s)? So maybe certain posters aren’t around any more…

Show Respect.
I even would say mutual respect 🙂

But , when you disagree with someone ,
is this a form of disrespect ??

Salute & Cheers from a NON BELIEVER:

The Qur’an accuses Jews of “falsehood" (Sura 3:71) and “distortion” (Sura 4:46). It says they have been cursed by Allah, as well as by David and Jesus (Sura 2:61/58, Sura 5:78/82). It says that Allah was so disgusted with Jews that he transformed them into apes and pigs, “despised and rejected”. (Sura 5:60/65, 2:65 and 7:166).

Other than that, I have no reason to question what you’ve said.
You have no reason to but I do. Even The Bible, the New Testament confirms what is said in Holy Qur’an. that you just cited.
“His blood be on us, and on our children” Matthew 27:25;
and when Jesus calls certain Pharisees “children of the devil” John 8:44;
“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:37-39 and John 8:44-47;
The reference to “your father the devil” has been used for antisemitic purposes. For example, Martin Luther in 1543 wrote On the Jews and Their Lies, an antisemitic tract in which he refers to Jews as “a brood of vipers and children of the devil” (from Matthew 12:34);
“I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.” Revelation 3:9;

I am a Catholic. It’s a shame that some Catholics are so prejudice against our Muslim brothers and sisters.

Sorry for my Catholic brothers and sisters who do not know the teachings of the Church. Maybe they are not Catholic? or I should convert to Islam.

what does others’ behaviour on a forum have to do with what you believe in? if you convert to Islam, you will forsake Jesus and people will not stop criticizing Muhammad’s deeds and actions.

There are of course teachings as you have suggested. Jesus was the teacher, and he dealt with people, men and women regularly who were shunned by other more “orthodox Jews”. He treated them with respect and kindness. He sometimes healed tham. He even on one occassion learned from them.

Occassionally people in their zeal to promote their particular faith tradition, forget how Jesus was, and become unkind. Some do believe that their faith must be the first or best or both in order for them to adhere to it. Others see their faith tradition as but one of many, all designed to help us individiually come closer to God.

I am sorry that you have been subjected to cruelty here. I have on occassion, but the best part is, that people will message you and offer you support, and even apologies for their more meanspirited breathren.

I firmly believe that God speaks to ALL his people in the way most useful for them, given their culture, to see him. Thus Godly people can be found everywhere in Hindus and Buddhists, Shinto, Native American, etc, not just the three religions of the book. We all such uphold each other in our journeys with God, not belittle each other for not agreeing with a mere human that their tradition is the best. That’s pretty silly on it’s face isn’t it?

LOL. Is that in between the verses that tell Muslims to kill unbelievers wherever they find them and call the People of the Book “apes and pigs”? The Qur’an and Moslems themselves mock the Christian doctrine of the Trinity constantly. Also there’s the fact that infidels are killed weekly by Muslims for “insulting” the “prophet” Mahomet. Just look what happened when the Pope quoted that Byzantine emperor who said that Islam teaches nothing but what is violent and inhumane…and, sure enough, Moslems the world over responded by behaving like animals and savages.

The Catholic way to speak to Moslems or anyone is to speak the truth with charity.

the same way, in fact, it wouldnt be too encouraged to think of others as “catholic” or “non-catholic” yes? If they are people, they deserve the same respect.

That however does not mean that when certain individuals decide to be obnoxious, we are supposed to behave like doormats and allow ourselves to be trampled upon.

Whilst idealistically, we’re expected to love everyone, in practical, many people do have issues dealing with their emotions. we are human after all. Just cos you see a few rude people is no reason to assume Catholics are all rude etc.
