All is serene in The Cat House. Fluffy has resumed sleeping with me all night, probably because of the electric blanket being on all night. One interesting point. You know how cats like to tread on you, with claws pricking, purring away, and this dreamy look in their eyes? A sign of affection.

But for some reason, Fluffy is now doing this with my Teddy Bear. Well, my scent is all over the Teddy Bear, which I tend to hug while sleeping. And perhaps the fur feels more comfortable to Fluffy then the flannal blanket I insert between her claws and my skin.

I read that the “kneading” action is an instinctive one that goes back to the kitten stage, when they knead the mother’s body while nursing to get more milk.

Honestly, they have the best life - up all night having fun, and best of all, sleeping all day - in the warmest or coolest part of the house!!

I can feel a tune coming on… 'on the first day of advent, my lovely cat said to me… (sorry, couldn’t help myself!)

My cats do this too, they have now gotten used to the dog on the bed and are back with a vengence.

Also, I never thought I would see the words “Cat House” on a Catholic forum.
