The CC "got it right" on the NT canon? How do you know?

God wrote the scriptures making them apart of the canon , the church merely approved it.
Can you please explain how the Holy Scriptures “check” the 27 book canon of the NT?

What Scriptures confirm that there are 27 books that belong in the NT?

the church is not infallible, however the church got the nt right
So she was at least infallible when she assembled the NT canon correct? But if you hold to her being fallible, then the odds that she got it right on the canon of the NT, as she sifted through hundreds, if not thousands of texts, is what? Maybe .000000000000001%.

If she is fallible, then there is no guarantee of the NT, it is all subjective. As such, if you believe she can teach with error, then there becomes no reason to follow any of her teachings, as they could all be in error.

LOL!

What do you think infallibility is if not the Holy Spirit being involved in making sure believes who can make mistakes “get it right”?

You have just given a very cogent apologia for the Catholic teaching on infallibility! 🙂
nope , because the church has been wrong before, however because the Trinity inspired the scriptures , when the councils were convened , the Holy Spirit convicted them if a book was wrong or right, the Holy Scriptures are canon because God made them so , the reason the church recognizes it is because of the holy Spirit , not some " I am the church so im right " nonsense

the trinity gave the scriptures to writers who merely recorded the scriptures , then the church approved them , and pls don t ever call me non Trinitarian ever. ok duane { ps I forgive you, im just annoyed that you gave an unsupported charge against me ]
Did they cooperate in that writing? If so, then tey did more than merely record them. God inspired the writings, humans wrote them down. But you stated God wrote them, as such did the NT just fall out of the sky?

God inspired them , humans recorded them , that’s what I tried to say!!

When has the Church been wrong in her teachings?

the church can error, read revelation if you disagree] however the Holy Spirit was involved making sure that believers who can make mistakes , got the nt right
In Revelation, for the most part those seven churches were flourishing, there were only certain members in those churches that were not acting as they should, they had “soiled their garments.”

not sure if losing your first love is “flourishing”

Then God did not physically write them, humans cooperated in the formation of those 27 books. But it is the Church that said those 27 books are inspired. If she is fallible, why should I believe she got it right then? The odds are astronomical. If I grant her infallibility on the assembly of the canon of the NT, why should I not give it to her on other issues? You want to be able to pick and choose when to follow her. Fine. But then as such you cannot get mad at others when they start to throw out books of the NT, or change wording to fit their theology, they are doing nothing different than you.

What church gave us the doctrine of the Trinity, which you also believe?

Well, then you are a believer in Sacred Tradition, and NOT an advocate of Sola Scriptura, since you defer to the authority of the CC, and NOT to Scripture in the case of the NT canon.

I would hope that in the future you would be a apologist for Sacred Tradition, at least, as it applies to the Bible’s table of contents.
I accept sola scriptura , but I accept tradition like every Lutheran , the new testament was accepted because a . agreement with the Old testament b. written by an apostle or friend of one c. God inspired it , you still don’t seem to get it , God already decided it , the church just had to agree with the Trinity always good btw] .

How did that take place, was there a conversation between them?

What church gave us the Nicene Creed that Christians profess?

AUGUSTINE ON AUTHORITY OF CATHOLIC CHURCH

“I would not believe the Gospel if the authority of the Catholic Church did not compel me.”

You realize what he is saying? If another denomination had presented him that same Gospel, he would not have believed it.
