Well, you can d/l The Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (and lots of other great stuff) at saints.sqpn.com/indexebk.htm
They also have a short catechism by St Augustine.

Which book reader did you get, the Kindle?

Thank you for the site I have book marked it.

Yes I got a Kindle. And I love it so far, I was disappointed when I noticed that they still hadn’t got the CCC on the kindle format.

You can download the CCC as a plain-text file from:

americancatholictruthsociety.com/docs/ccc.txt

I believe that the Kindle can read plain-text files.

this is the search result from the kindle store
amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=CAtechism+of+the+Catholic+Church

I am not going to download one until I hear from somebody about searchability

Note that I am not sure if this file is being made available legally. The website does not mention that they have permission from the USCCB to make it available.
