Maybe this is really stupid, but this funny thought hit me. We can have faith without going to church, but without going to church we will be lost in the dark forest of spirituality. Being in the dark forest of spirituality is a confusing place. Many people get so lost in the forest that they stop being religious due to total confusion. The church is the train to heaven. Heaven is the station at the end of the line.
There’s a switch at one point with four possible routes: Staying on the path to Heaven, a wind which takes quite a bit longer to Heaven which passes through Purgatory, and a route which leads to total derailment and Hell. The fourth route is one that is early on in the line which causes the passengers to get off the train too early and get lost in the dark forest of spirituality. There are stations along the line to Heaven where people lost in the dark forest of spirituality can enter on if they manage to find such a station.
Stupid and cringe-worthy? Perhaps. I just felt like sharing it nevertheless.
