"The Church Universal"

[MariaChristi]

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

HERE is a link to a new EWTN series on “The Church Universal” and the effect that some of the newer Apostolates are having-- particularly in the area of the New Evangelization. This Sunday, Oct 5, “The Legion of Mary” will be in focus. Finola Kennedy, Godchild of the founder of the Legion, Servant of God Frank Duff, who wrote the definitive biography of his life will be interviewed. (5 pm EST)

On Nov. 23, Don Taggert will speak on the Legion’s work of “Door to Door Evangelization” Please check this EWTN website to confirm dates and times for your area. I’m really looking forward to both programs.

I’m posting this link in the Spirtuality Forum because the focus of the Legion of Mary is on “Spirituality”. It is unique in my mind as a Lay Apostolate that seeks first the holiness of its members and then seeks to reach out to other souls who are in need of God’s Grace to grow spiritually, i.e. to go and make disciples of Jesus, through Mary and with Mary.

Yes, I’ve been wanting to read her book on Frank Duff, but have resisted buying another book! There is a good deal of info on Frank Duff already on line and I have read the biography by Father Bradshaw. The fact that she is is his Godchild is significant to me, however. That personal relationship with such a holy man will add much to this presentation on his life and work for Jesus and Mary through the Legion of Mary. I put a big note next to our TV so I won’t forget to watch it this Sunday!
