The Cloud of Unknowing should it be read?

I am not sure where to post this. I have not been to the forum in awhile and it is different from what is used to be.

Has anyone read this book? I saw one put out by Liguori Publications written by Father Dennis J. Billy.
In the introduction they mention centering prayer which I am to understand we should not practice.
Have any of you read this book and what are your thoughts about it?

If it has the imprimatur then it should be fine to read.

The Cloud of Unknowing is regarded as a spiritual classic and is a staple of any course in Western mysticism. Centring prayer, while often considered a relatively recent innovation in Western Spirituality has in fact been a part of Christian spirituality (admittedly more so in the East) for well over a thousand years.
