Ephesians 1:15-23 (KJV)
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body
, the fulness of him that filleth all in all
Let us look closer at this “Body of Christ” which is His Church.

Romans 12:5-6 (KJV)
  • For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. *
The members of the One Body are members one of another.
And we read more on this in Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 12:12-20 (KJV)
  • For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet but one body. *
Indeed, the members of the One Body do not ignore one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV)
  • Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. *
Romans 12:10 (KJV)
  • Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; *
Galatians 6:2
  • Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: *
2 Thessalonians 1:11 (KJV)
  • Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
2 Thessalonians 3:1 (KJV)
*Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: *

Where are the members of the One Body? They are with Christ.
Where is Christ? He is with His Church, the One Body.

And is a member of the One Body separated from Christ upon death? Of course not.

Romans 8:35-39
  • Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. *
And as a member of the One Body, even in earthly death remains with Christ, can the One Body be divided by death? Of course not. There is ONE Body.
And those members in heaven are NOT dead; they are MORE alive than we on Earth!

1 Corinthians 13:12
  • For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. *
1 John 3:2
  • Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
God is not God of the dead but of the living! (Matthew 22:32). And we, the members of the One Body, are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1)

What are those members of the one Body doing before the very throne of God?
Revelation 5:6-9 (KJV)
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints
. *

What are these “elders” in Heaven doing with the prayers of the saints?
We can see clearly what the angels are doing with the prayers of the saints in Chapter 8 of that same book.
(It makes sense that the Elders before the throne of God, do as the angels do before the throne.)

Revelation 8:3-5
  • And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.*
And how are these elders and angels in heaven getting the prayers of the saints, the members of the One Body, to present to the Lord? Because the Body is One. Because the One Body cares about the One Body.

And those members of the One Body that are in Heaven have not forgotten the wicked deeds done to them on Earth.

Revelation 6:9-10
  • And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? *
How much MORE will the members of the one Body continue to care and interceed for the members of the one Body on Earth, than for the evil done to them!

The members of the one Body cannot be divided from one another for they are of the One Christ.
ALL members intercede for one another, for they are of one another.
If that foot is in heaven will it ignore the pain and suffering of the hand that is on Earth? Of course not.
You ask me why I pray to the saints in Heaven, and I ask you why do you divide the One Body of Christ.
Why do you ignore the members of the One Body that are in Heaven?
Where are your prayers to those in Heaven, that they may present them with incense to the Lord?
