Eh, a Catholic is minimally someone who was baptized a Catholic. Just because an adult was baptized Catholic as an infant doesn’t mean that there was much further religious education. And yes, this could be through absolutely no fault of their own.That is the key. “Through no fault of their own”. But, as I pointed out in my previous post, a Catholic who is of the age of reason and is unaware that receiving Holy Communion in the state of mortal sin is an act of sacrilege is necessarily guilty of culpable ignorance (AKA “vincible ignorance”).
