When the Bible talks about the Second Coming not happening until the conversion of the Jews, does it mean a lot of Jews worldwide will become Christian or that Israel will become a Christian country?

Thanks. You helped me so I don’t have to look it up again. I have few Scripture verses memorized.

Here’s what the Catechism says on this topic:
CCC 674 - The glorious Messiah’s coming is suspended at every moment of history until his recognition by “all Israel”, for “a hardening has come upon part of Israel” in their “unbelief” toward Jesus. St. Peter says to the Jews of Jerusalem after Pentecost: “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.” St. Paul echoes him: “For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?” The “full inclusion” of the Jews in the Messiah’s salvation, in the wake of “the full number of the Gentiles”, will enable the People of God to achieve “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”, in which “God may be all in all”. source

I still will work to convert Jews. Especially since a lot of Jews in America aren’t really practicing their religion that much.

I think it’s generally taken to mean the en masse conversion. The modern state of Israel only plays a special role in dispensationalist understandings of the Second Coming, but if it still exists at the time then such an event would seem to necessarily involve it becoming a Catholic country.

Though again, the modern state of Israel does not play a special role. The conversion of the Jews could happen just as well without it existing.

Still over my head. Are you saying the Second Coming won’t happen until Israel becomes Catholic?

It won’t happen until the Jews convert en masse. If the state of Israel exists at that time, it would probably become Catholic, on account of its population’s conversion. But the modern state of Israel isn’t part of what has to happen before the Second Coming.

  1. So according to Scripture, the Second Coming won’t happen until the Jewsin Israel convert to Christianity en masse? Right? Wrong?
  2. What do you mean by your last sentence?

Correct.

The state of Israel may or may not exist at the time of the Jews’ conversion.

So according to Scripture, the Second Coming will occur after the Jews convert en masse to Christianity, but from around the world, not just Israel? Or Israel will becomes Christian country?

The last of the Gentiles to be saved must happen first.
It means the Jews will remain obstinate until the world is fit to judge. No one is left who will accept the Gospel except them. The human race will have entered an eternal state. All those in the world who have not accepted God’s Mercy, not accepted forgiveness for their sins, are already damned committing the unforgivable sin.
I think it possible; with the world in such a state
The faithfull will be suffering at their hands which will cause an unprecedented witness of Sanctifying Grace. Supernatural reality as the world has never seen. But the only people left in the world to receive God’s Mercy through their suffering is the Jews
Somehow I think the final suffering of the Church that will make her spotless and at the same time prepare the Jews for conversion. The event that will defeat the remaining power of sin in the world. And why the conversion of the Jews means life from the dead. St Paul said 'I will tell you a mystery!"That mystery concludes with this statement.
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So if their are no more Jews keeping the Law, then sin has lost it’s power.

On the contrary:

CCC 676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.
