St. thomas Aquinas says that we are only damned when we posit an impediment to God’s grace. If someone is neutral and is not positing an impediment to God’s grace one might call that a Positive choice but is it really? The surrendering of the will is not a positive choice–it is just a cessation of a negative choice.
It is choice. It may be positive choice, negative choice, Hobson’s choice, limited choice, Sophie’s choice, whatever. It is choice.
