I was listening to a C.D. by Dr. Scott Hahn and he was talking about the Covenent. He spoke of how is was more than a mere a mere legal contract and how it was all this stuff and how he got this from the bible. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this and if it is the bible and if so how? Thanks and God bless.

I have done some of the online courses of Scott Hahns at www.salvationhistory.com (they are free).
There is one called Covenant Love and it covers the covenents throughout the Bible:
Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus.

These are great Bible Study courses and I highly recommend them.

A very thorough examination of the concept of ‘covenant’ is found in the book by Auspicius van Corstanje OFM (sp?)
“Covenant with God’s Poor”. It has less than 200 pages and is focused on St. Francis of Assisi’s understanding of evangelical poverty and the covenant relationship of the “Anawim”.

But the first two chapters or so give an extensive review of the difference between the “suzerainty treaty” of the surrounding nations in biblical times, and God’s covenant with his people.

It’s work but it’s worth it.
