I’m sorry but this is no clarification at all.

According to Joseph Smith, beings with bodies have power over the Holy Ghost, because by definition the Holy Ghost has no body.

The Holy Ghost can’t possibly have any special influence over our spirit because the Holy Ghost has no body. 🤷
Who said spirits can have no influence over us? If we allow them to do so they may have significant influence. Isn’t this obvious? We are constantly bombarded by good and evil. We must choose to follow one or the other. By our choices we determine who has influence. However, we are initially free to make that choice. Let me quote Joseph Smith again but I will give the next sentence, "All beings who have bodies have power over those who have not. The devil has no power over us only as we permit him; the moment we revolt at anything which comes from God, the devil takes power.” The reverse may also be said of the influence of the Lord. As we follow the spirit will be guided in paths of truth.
Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given. Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself. (2 Ne 2:25-27)

Janderich is the first Mormon I have met here that has admitted the lds church is false. Not a bad way to start holy week

It is not us who have power, it is Jesus Christ. We can call on Him, and command in His name, but we hold no power of our own.

As for Satan, he has been defeated, he is like a dog on a chain, which can only bite you if you wander close enough.

That’s not what you said. You said ‘the Holy Ghost has special influence over our spirit’. Joseph Smith’s comments contradict that.
We are constantly bombarded by good and evil. We must choose to follow one or the other. By our choices we determine who has influence. However, we are initially free to make that choice.
You admit then that LDS have more in common with eastern spirituality that Christianity?

Again, that’s not what you said. You said the Holy Ghost, who by definition has no body and according to Joseph Smith *we have power over *because we have bodies.

The Holy Ghost must be a very weak god if he can be considered a god at all, since all with bodies have power over him.

Christian theology is way too complicated for LDS attitude. (please note I say attitude and no intelligence)

Their theology is a theology that gives man an illusionary power.
The power to resist the evil depends only by men?
LDS are absolutely concerned with “how it works”. They want to know how to do it right so it will work.
Once I have red some high placed LDS in a monthly LDS journal (if I am not wrong called Liona or something like that) that a common prayer doesn’t go higher then the cealing of the house where the praying person is since he doesn’t know how to pray.
Normal LDS are not shocked by this since they think it is possible to do the right way.
In a way is like a whichcraft attitude.
After every each prayer they say, at least many of them (I say many because I heard many but of course not all) in the name of Jesus.
I have asked few of them why they do this and the answer was because Jesus said if you will ask in His name what you ask willbe given to you. So to make it work.

In they too simplified and materialized spirituality deeply different from Christianity absolutely can’t grasp the meaning that:Christianity is a religion of being and not doing.
Phariseans were doing many things but they were not the things they were doing.
We can just pray to be.
What we do can be the reflection of our desire to be different, can be the result that we became different or just because we want to appear different to ourselves and to the others. We want to taste our own goodness.
In the last case God is out of our heart.

Brigham Young had some very demonic opinions. He said that Michael/Adam has the keys of ultimate authority to raise the dead. Since Michael/Adam, God and Father is the one that conceived Jesus within the Virgin Mary, he is also the one that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Others, once they have been raised from the dead, will also have the keys of authority to raise people from the dead once they are ordained, (apparently by the high preisthood of the LDS ).

He also states that Joseph Smith will be resurrected from the dead quite some time before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He also warned those with the authority to baptize, not to hastily lay hands on young women, lest these young women become pregnant like the Virgin Mary. Evidently, he was implying that this is how Mary was conceived by Michael/Adam, God and Father.

So this power that Brigham Young was speaking is related to the power and authority that was first invested in Michael/Adam, God and Father who apparently, (and I say apparently, because Brigham Young speaks an esoteric language that one has to decipher) is passed unto his children as the spirits that he creates, and who later become enfleshed. Joseph Smith is one of those enfleshed spirits that will have that kind of authority to raise people from the dead, after he is raised from the dead.

So we have some examples of the invested power and authority that Brigham Young was speaking apart from Jesus Christ, namely through Michael/Adam, God and Father.

“A bad tree can not bring forth good fruit”.

If I have misrepresented Brigham Young, I humbly stand corrected.

mercytruth I have my handy-dandy JoD sitting here ready to defend your statements. 👍

Since its inception, the LDS leadership has taken the sheep’s clothing of the Holy Scriptures and interwoven the lies of Satan into this holy garment. This is what Satan did with Eve when he said, ‘has God said’? This is what Satan did when he tempted Jesus Christ in the wilderness by twisting the Holy Scriptures. This LDS deception is more refined than that of the gnostic heresies of the first centuries of the church.
Yes and they obfuscate this by calling everything else the “philosophies of men mingled with scripture”
