This type of imoral convolutedf Catholic apologist argument is exactly the point I was making. Catholic antisemitism teaches the Jews are cursed and fit only for slaughter which leads to the murder of Jews during the Crusades by these antisemitic Christians which leads to its morall justification by Catholic apologists that these murderers were only doing God’s will in punishing the Jews who are cursed and fit only for slaughter.

I say Jews are not cursed by God and fit to slaughter.

This is what the church teaches:

"Jews are not collectively responsible for Jesus’ death

597 The historical complexity of Jesus’ trial is apparent in the Gospel accounts. The personal sin of the participants (Judas, the Sanhedrin, Pilate) is known to God alone. Hence we cannot lay responsibility for the trial on the Jews in Jerusalem as a whole, despite the outcry of a manipulated crowd and the global reproaches contained in the apostles’ calls to conversion after Pentecost.385 Jesus himself, in forgiving them on the cross, and Peter in following suit, both accept “the ignorance” of the Jews of Jerusalem and even of their leaders.386 Still less can we extend responsibility to other Jews of different times and places, based merely on the crowd’s cry: “His blood be on us and on our children!”, a formula for ratifying a judicial sentence.387 As the Church declared at the Second Vatican Council:

. . . [N]either all Jews indiscriminately at that time, nor Jews today, can be charged with the crimes committed during his Passion. . . [T]he Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from holy Scripture.388"

I do believe that God punishes people who sin against Him, and that rejecting Jesus is a sin. Jews cannot be held collectively responsible for the crucixion, but only the persons who conducted and approved of it in that generation. Although succeeding generations who did not inherit this guilt, nevertheless can still sin themselves (and so can gentiles) when they refuse to believe in Jesus and sin against God.

Deuteronomy 28:65-66 And among these nations you shall find no ease, and there shall be no rest for the sole of your foot; but the Lord will give you there a trembling heart, and failing eyes, and a languishing soul; your life shall hang in doubt before you; night and day you shall be in dread, and have no assurance of your life.

People who are better historians than I am can examine the whole effect of the various persecutions of Jews in Europe. I do not doubt that persecutions occurred or that various churchmen participated in them.

Still, there are also examples of churchmen who protected them and who utterly disapproved of their perpetrators.

But what no one seems to consider, let alone really analyze, is the fact itself that Jews in considerable numbers lived in Europe during the eras in question. Had the situation been unremittingly untenable, they would not have done so. Could not have done so. True, there were times when some of them left to live under Turkish rule. On the other hand, there were times when some left the realms of Islam to live in the West. At times, they were specifically invited to immigrate into certain portions of Christendom.

Right now, and even on CAF, we see people who cite this situation or that in which Jews in Israel are alleged to have committed some enormity against Arab Palestinians. It has seemed to me, upon investigation, that some of the particular citations of complaint have justification, but the broad generalizations do not. Some Arabs have truly dreadful things to say about Jews or Judaism generally, without distinction. Many peoples on this earth have complaints to make against others. Likely there is some truth to every one of them. But that is not to say the most extravagant of them are true, or were ever true. Nor is it correct, today, for people to cite ancient grievances as if they somehow reflect the present situation.
