70,000,000 million US Catholics called upon by the Lord to be Salt, to pursue Justice and to be the only defence against the powers of darkness in a world of deception. Your weapons are the Truth, Love and Justice, with a commandment to act and not be complacent. The news is consistently broadcasting all the bad things that people have done and of course lately the envelope has been pushed.
So we believers proclaim we are to be Anti-Death and Pro Life. We say that Abortion is Murder and Same Sex Marriage is Sin, and contraception is evil and that’s it; our opinion is made, we have done our part, conveyed our opinion and have retreated back to our stable religious life. This is the very best that Justice, Love and Truth can do in a democratic society. Oh yes, and I would not leave out that we can also vote.

In every murder case I have observed, everything relevant to the wrongful death is considered. The investigation is thorough; hopefully not one relative aspect is left unturned. But in the cause of abortion we don’t want relative information, we just want the verdict. It’s murder. We don’t want to know what led up to the crime or how the environment was conducive to the death. The Pro Life movement is not interested in complicity, which, in a murder trial is absolutely relative.

The pontifical opinion is that it’s the Culture of Death that’s causing the problem. So we could easily make this opinion: the cause of the problem is also the Business of Death. As a Catholic, I am not convinced that the Pro Life agenda is about confronting the Business of Death, because as far as I can tell it’s the Business of Death that is doing most of the killing.
We don’t have millions of poor people who are romantically conveyed as blessed in scripture. Those who we are calling the poor in our society are in fact millions of drug and alcohol addicts: Weak souls who were traumatised in addicted dysfunctional families parented by people who were also industrialized into addiction as youth. Who do you think are filling up the prisons of the nation with angry disenfranchised citizens who more than likely did their crimes under the influence of addiction?

There is a serious social stratification issue that needs to be addressed economically, spiritually and holistically. Health is important. A nation of ill, addicted ruined souls will impact everything, including employment, health care costs, the abortion problem, etc.
Until the Pro Life Movement acknowledges The Business of Death, the Pro Life Movement will only be cosmetic for polarizing voters; and society will continue to dilapidate and pay for it.

By providing safe and clean places for pregnant teens and women who are having a “troubled pregnancy.” No matter the reason they may feel they can’t have the child they now carry, we should provide them housing, medical care and education until the child is two years old. This way they have a chance to gain skills for work, develop healthier life styles and can even give up the child for adoption.

As it stands now most girls and women experiencing an unplanned or problematic pregnancy don’t have somewhere to go where they are free from outside pressures and stresses to make a clear choice for life. They are afraid, may be victims of abuse and know only what the medical profession tells them.

If we can’t provide for them how can we really judge them?
 
Just to believe as Catholics that you have power to have an opinion. The statistical evidence of the smoking industry is a good place to start. The death toll every year is close to 400,000. Then it’s all the disposable income this industry absorbs, and how it contributes to alcohol and drug addiction, depression, mental illness, Heart and Lung disease, Cancer, unemployment and poverty and I could go on.This industry is a Pro Death industry and is responsible for directly increasing your health care bill: Simply because it’s creating disease.

There are industries that build countries then there are industries that can tare it down and that is the problem. Pro Life Catholics should know the difference.
 
Since this forum is about Justice I find it interesting that the “search forums” beside the twitter icon on top looks like a cigarette …Maybe this an important issue
 
Luckily, there are some wonderful places trying to combat the business of death and supporting women so they don’t feel like the only option they have is to abort. I have seen maternity homes pop up around the US for pregnant women. One example is Saint Gianna’s in North Dakota- look it up! There are also many pro-life pregnancy clinic’s that offer women support and abortion alternatives. It is so important important that we support these programs offered for women so they are given alternatives to abortion.

You should also look up the organization “Save the Storks.” They are a group that travels around and offers free ultrasounds and support to pregnant women contemplating abortion.
 
There needs to be kindness toward all those who are victims of a system that exploits them.
The number one cause for abortion is fear. New young adults live in country where murder is broadcasted daily and sex is a part of everything they see in media. They are taught that being sexual is the norm for getting what you want… Until the Pro Life Movement holds corporate culture accountable for addicting and influencing youth, nothing will change except for the kindness that some charitable organizations can provide. My Belief as a Pro Life Catholic, is we cannot support businesses who’s products or solicitation target youth. Because what is happening is that children are having children and most of the time this ends up resulting in abortions. Protecting youth is important
 
Just keep in mind that we are not the Saviour of the world. I f we don’t proclaim our God, Jesus Christ, all the best efforts in the world will only amount to symptomatic cure. And remember we are not fighting each other but powers and principalities. This is the ultimate reality. St. Paul says " He considers all things as dung, compared to the knowledge of Jesus Christ his saviour" It is He who gives success to our efforts. We can get tangled in many charitable activities and still be ineffective if we don’t keep our eyes on the Saviour, and follow the lead of His Spirit. Offer those we help the same advice, then we are evangelizing.

Well, we are taught to pray to God for all that we need help with and he will provide, I would imagine MOST of these women in this situation have prayed til they are blue in the face, so why isnt God providing them with some help, or steering them in a good direction? Plus, alot of the time, when it comes down to it, many of them end up going in for the abortion…even though they probably prayed and prayed, asking for Gods help during the 9 month period…??
