I found this traditional Catholic community of Nuns, called the Daughters of Mary. I want to know are they schismatic? Are they in communion with Rome?

Here is their website: daughtersofmary.net/daughtersofmary.php

In their qualifications it says that the woman who wants to enter
Must not be affiliated with the ** Novus Ordo ** church
I put this in the Traditional Catholicism forum instead of the Vocations because this is about Traditional Catholicism 🙂

Their founder, a Bishop Kelly, is a member of the SSPV, who are not in communion with Rome. You can do a search on this, there’s lots of info.

I’m so bummed that they aren’t loyal to the magisterium. I LOVE those orthodox nuns, like the Carmelites in Alhambra. Years ago, I seriously considered applying to join their community, but I went with the Benedictines instead. Both are great communities, however 👍 Of course, this was not my vocation, but the search (and two years in a monastery) was a blessing beyond compare!

Are you discerning a vocation to religious life? Just curious 🙂

Well I cannot become a nun, for I am a man! 😛 😛
:rotfl:

Well, darlin, that doesn’t mean you couldn’t be discerning a religious vocation – just not to the orders you asked about or I linked to 😃 Too funny!

Oh yes, indeed I know. I am more of the FSSP, ICKSP, Transalpine Redemptorist type 🙂

I am a wee bit Salesian, but you see… the Salesian congregation today isn’t exactly … umm, how you say it “Salesian?” in the ways that St. Don Bosco meant it to be. Some of the older priests are “Salesian Salesians”.

But I don’t know 🙂 … I live in a very small bay. I have time though, and it really gets my nerves though when I see a congregation holding the sedevacantist position … 😦

The very fact they oppose a chimera called “the Novus Ordo Church” shows they are schismatic.

Ahh, silly me 😛 . I was not thinking clear. I thought they had no other way of explaining that they were “traditional” (which of course they are not, for if they were traditional they would be in communion)
