I wouldn’t give anything in a Jack Chick tract any credence whatsoever. I wouldn’t even waste my time reading such a tract. He is vehemently anti-Catholic, and his vitriol, if applied to any other group, would easily be classified as hate speech.

Here are the biggest two problems I find with Jack Chick tracts: 1) They are not large enough to use in the bottom of a birdcage, and 2) they are not absorbent enough to repurpose as bathroom tissue!

I love this 😃 😃 😃

50 years from now it will be Jick who?
But the church will go on.

Poor Poor Chicky… he’s gonna have some explaining to do one day…

I am a protestant and I find Chick tracts insulting and totally unreliable. I pray that his tracts do not mislead any more people. What a stupid view of history. Gee.

Jack Chick is more than just not reliable. He spews hate to all who will listen to him or read his stuff. Yes, he is violently anti-Catholic. Not just in his tracts, but also in his comic books. He has four or five against the Catholic church. One being “Alberto.” Now that one is so stupid it’s a wonder that anyone would buy it or believe it. But there’s a market for it, so someone is reading the stuff. I wonder how many people actually believe him. One lady I knew did. Her own ideas were so far from reality that I can’t talk to her anymore. It always turned into an argument about our beliefs. And she was one that said that Jack Chick spoke the truth in all things. 😦

Ouch! lol 😃

Tract: The Death Cookie
Claim: The Eucharist or Holy Communion is a death cookie.
The Big Question: Is that true? Let’s find out.

Complete rebuttal here cathoolic.com/the-death-cookie/

Enjoy! 👍
Chick Tracts are an embarrassment to us Protestants , IMO.

We can do better than to use inane conspiracies.

I am not big fan of the “hand you a tract” style of evangelization either.

Part of me believes that the guy is one of the most masterful trolls around, and he is just messing with everybody.

Why not? There’s a lot of laugh value to his tracts. I check his site every month or so for the next set of giggles.

While readers of Chick may not believe everything he writes, many will believe some of what he writes, with the argument that there is no smoke without fire. That’s where the poison creeps in and why, as silly as much of Chick’s writing looks to Catholics, he must be refuted.

Years ago I was in a Protestant book store that had a few rosaries and other Catholic items at one end of the store, and Chick tracts and comic books at the other end. I asked the owner why she carried such garbage (I used a more diplomatic word). Her reply is that people wanted it. That was probably the same answer she gave to Protestants asking why she carried Catholic items.

Nothing like being firm in your faith - in the bottome line! 🤷

Well, there’s plenty of hate speech out there, not just against the Catholic Church, but against plenty of people, groups, and ideas. Kind of flies in the face of Christ’s commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves. We don’t have to necessarily like their ideology, and if we can’t convert their minds, we’re told to walk away and shake the dust off from our feet. I don’t think that relieves us of the responsibility of praying for their eternal welfare, though. And I hope any intelligent Catholic isn’t similarly guilty of hatred.

I’m casually wondering if your old acquaintance would fall into the category of those experiencing “invincible ignorance.” I had such an acquaintance who would routinely attempt to proselytize me to his nondenominational megachurch, despite my repeated verbalized objections to this. We were coworkers, and, quite frankly, he had a bit of a crazy glint in his eyes when he would start his version of evangelization when I was trying to get some work done. It got to the point of his interrupting my work several times a day, and really made the workplace quite a nuisance. Part of his evangelization was including Jack Chick tracts in my lunch bag that was in the office refrigerator. That was my first experience with the ridiculous things. I filed them in the circular file.

This went on for months, and I would try to do my patient rounds when I knew he was in the department office, just to avoid him, but I would have to stay late to complete my documentation. One time I was trying to enter stuff into the computer reporting system with him preaching at me, and nearly entered “whore of Babylon” in the progress note I was trying to write (I"m a physical therapist, and if such a record ever went to court, I’m sure that that entry would be picked apart by a malpractice attorney.) I’m just going into detail here to demonstrate just how noxious a work environment this became!

I ended up reporting him to Human Resources, and they called him in and gave him what-for for not doing his job.

I felt a little uncomfortable about the whole scenario, since he had gotten into some trouble by my reporting (they told him to knock it off or he’d be placed on probation,) and discussed it with my spiritual director. He counseled me to pray for him, and told me I handled the situation well. Then Fr. J., rest his soul, made a comment: “Just mention him in your prayers, and count on the mercy of God in His dealings with him. Some people are just plain too stupid to go to hell!”

I’ve been looking for some time for the first edition of Alberto, since from the first to the current edition there have been revisions in the text and artwork. Even as a new Catholic back in the 1970’s when I was shown a copy of the first edition of the comic as proof of the evils of the Catholic Church, I was able to spot his poor understanding of Catholic dogma and practice.

Starting with the statement that Alberto was a “Priest-Bishop” and that he was ordained as such by the “Old Roman Catholic Church”. I pointed out the inconsistancies of his multiple PhD’s earned over a very short period of time when he was allegedly locked up in a Sanitarium and being beaten to the point he needed to be put in an Iron Lung,… I also pointed out to my friend that the document he proposed as being from the Archbishop of an un-named diocese which sent him to infiltrate Protestant Churches in South America was in Spanish and not Latin, If there was any credibility why were they given to him by a spanish Archbishop and not the Jesuits who he claimed to belong to? Since during his time earning his multiple PhDs and being tortured and living in an Iron lung, (why did they keep him alive in an Iron Lung if he was such a danger?) he was also in Rome learning how to infiltrate Protestant Churches, also having time to investigate the secrets of the Jesuit founding of Islam 600 years before they were ever founded, and not being detected lurking around the secret sealed documents in the darkest tunnels under the Vatican.

Such is the credibility of Jack Chick publications.

I used to be lurk in a Christian forum called Crosswalk (haven’t lurked in a long time) and was reading a thread debating whether celebrating Halloween was allowed for Christians. Some debated for it and some debated against it. Some people who debated for it mentioned giving out Chick tracts in lieu of candy. In my view it’s a lot more damaging than candy. :o

He is not just anti-Catholic, he is anti-Christian. He, and those that read him, seem to hate everyone and everything that they do not agree with them. 🤷 😛

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This is the best advice I’ve heard in a long time (both funny and true!)…thank you odile for making my otherwise boring Monday a much brighter day:cool:
