…but apparently, according the DNC photo on their (veterans and military families) website, they only support CANADIAN Troops!
Reader Don asked for confirmation of that the solider in the picture is a Canadian soldier, not a US Soldier, Marine, Airman or Sailor.
Confirmed.
And Michelle Malkin has the details…
While I whole heartedly agree with supporting our northern neighbors who are engaging in some of the toughest fighting in Afghanistan, this is beyond excusable.
Seriously, though, how screwed up must you be to post about how much your party supports the troops, but not know who your troops are? ‘Embarassing’ hardly begins to describe this error.

perhaps next will be having other countries vote in our elections:eek:

Yes pretty stupid mistake.

Somewhat as bad as:
  1. Using bad intelligence to invade a country.
  2. Lying to the American people saying “We know exactly where the WMD’s are”, then lying a couple years later insisting “I never said that”
  3. Not using enough troops despite the advice of your Generals.
  4. Saying “Major combat operations are over” when they are not.
  5. Saying the “The resistance is in the last throws”
  6. Saying that Iraq was part of 9-11 when the Commission Report said that is not the case and it was actually Al Queda who perpertrated the acts on 9-11.
  7. Telling the American people this will be quick and easy and we will be greated as liberators.

Trying to change the subject are we?

The fact of the matter is that whichever Democrat created the webpage, and whomever in the DNC who approved the page for publication doesn’t have a clue even what a US Soldier looks like. This is really sad. Your trying to avoid the issue is also very, very sad. Is this the state of the Democratic Party today?

Yes, I’m sorry to say it is…long gone is the party of JFK,Scoop Jackson…etc.

You know there is a French saying "le libéralisme well you know the rest;)

Nothing but good things to say about Republicans and bad things to say about Democrats. The affects of painting the world as black and white are rarely this entertaining.

So what do you think about the fact that the DNC doesn’t seem to know what a US soldier looks like? Is that OK with you?

I think the people who maintain that site have very little to do with actual policy, and it was probably a mistake made by some 19-year-old intern. I sometimes have trouble telling the difference between different nation’s soldiers myself. Really, if you think such things are enough ammo to fling at the entire party, you’re grasping at straws. It’s a minor oversight. If you, due to lighting or angle, thought that a mexican person to be a white person, no one would accuse you of not knowing the difference. It would be chalked up to a simple misunderstanding.

Normally, pages like this have to be approved by someone high up in the DNC. And, yes, I think it is very telling when a party that wants to control the US military doesn’t know what a US soldier looks like. Thank you for asking.

The Democratic Party website has been changed since the discovery that they used a picture of a Canadian soldier on the page that proclaimed their support for “our troops”. Apparently, though, they still can’t find a picture of an American soldier to support.

First they showed a Canadian soldier, now they have replaced it with what looks like an American Flag bath towel. If so, it would violate customary flag etiquette and could be in violation of US Law… Looks like they still are fowled up and they still can not show support to our troops by picturing an American soldier!

Was not changing the subject. I said in my first sentence a pretty stupid mistake. Over all this whole war in Iraq has been one big mistake. Mistake in invading and mistake in over all planning.

And the idiot who can not post a picture of a U.S. troop is a mistake of a hire. Now they should fire him or at least keep him/her away from a computer

Either way both parties make mistakes. In this case the DNC made a mistake of not proofing the web developers graphics. The Republicans make mistakes in their actions and mouths.
