The "devil" hands out Communion

The real problem is that the bishop here has clearly tolerated this practice, he has tolerated other practices, he tolerated such behavior in his former diocese in Idaho, and nobody has raised a word of protest from on high.

The bishop is also not exactly close to imminent retirement.

Nobody is claiming the Novus Ordo rubrics allow this nonsense. BUT, bishops like the one in question have steadfastly banned a liturgy of centuries, all the while allowing what you see in those pictures.

That’s a scandal.

This is just horrible. Just terrible. I am shocked that a Catholic parish would do something so stupid. Pope St. Pius X would be rolling over in his grave. Looks like the keyboard player/musical director is from Hell. St. John Chrosystom said that the streets of hell are paved with the skulls of bishops so what makes us think that the streets won’t be paved with the blasphemous likes of these people?

Yeah, that’s pretty sad.

THIS is why people post the address of the papal nuncio. 🙂 Ya have to work your way up the ladder and not simply complain online.

Kirk, it happened and since no one has said or done anything in that diocese, to censure those who permitted it, it must be at a minimum tolerated by those in power there. Ans as far as it goes, you know these things are far from isolated and unusual. If you don’t believe me check out a few of the Trditional Web Sites that routinely publicize these things.

The people that commit these sacriligious acts are not Traditional minded Catholics, no Kirk thay are those who will support and defend and procalim their support of Vatican II to anyone who will listen, because in their minds, it freed them from repression and allowed them to be free. I will never believe that this behavior reflects all non traditional minded Catholics, but it does represent a good number of them. You know it and so do I.

I’m sorry Kirk, but you are too smart a man to even try to say this kind of nonsense doesn’t happen a lot. You know better.
We’re on the same page regarding this, Palmas, almost, anyway. Yes, this stuff happens, even happens a lot, esp. in that particular neck of the woods. But a “lot” compared to the bulk of Masses regularly offered would, I believe, still constitue a minority, an exception as opposed to the rule. And the radical traditionalists I speak of are places such as the sedevacantists at Novus Ordo Watch, etc., also the Marian Horvats of this world, just those sites such as you rec. that I consult. I intend no insult toward anyone and I regard myself as a fairly traditional catholic as far as the small “t” goes and a wholly traditional Catholic as regards the large “T.”

But why should we have to do that? Aren’t there people in charge of these Priests? These Bishops? Is it really up to us - people on a website to complain to the Vatican? That just seems so ridiculous.

When the bishops don’t care and fail in protecting what has been entrusted to them----Yes----it is up to us. Rome must be made aware that We–the people do care and hold our priests and bishops accountable.

There is a saying----the squeeky wheel gets the oil.

The more we tolerate such actions from priests and bishops — the more ingrained this actions become in the people. If we continue to keep our silence when it comes to the Vatican --we ourselves contribute to the on going problems in the Mass.

I’m getting ready to follow proper protocol and write a letter listing my concerns regarding this blasphemy and forward it to my bishop who always listens…Cardinal Mahony:rolleyes:

You’d not get any further with the bishop of this pariticular diocese, named after a citrus fruit that is orange in color. Blessed Junipero Serra would grieve over this, if the souls looking upon the Face of Jesus could grieve.

What is truly tragic is that these people will have to face the Lord one day. Hopefully for them they won’t be dressed like that afterward.

Note that they didn’t use Latin or kneel for Communion; so what’s to complain.

Sometimes I just don’t know what my confreres are thinking.

Actually, WHO approved their advancement ??? (EDIT)
Well then, don’t expected anything but even more of the same.
When has a Traditional priest been raised to bishop in the USA? I think there might be one in Kansas City.
Name more than 2 out of about 300.
2/300 = **.**6%.
It appears for all the world that you must prove you are an ego maniac movie star wanna be to qualify for the job.
No, it won’t get any better, but worse as the clown loving laity continue to pour $$$$ into the collection.
The whole perverse USCCB is well funded to carry on as usual.

If a revolt ever comes it will be thru the efforts of the radical traditional catholics evangelizing the other “katholiks”. In the meantime, the lukewarm middle will be left behind to grip about both sides.

What exactly is a “rad trad”?
It is a Catholic who still believes all that the Church teaches, and who is not afraid to speak out against error regardless of who is promoting it. Before Vatican II, this group used to be called “faithful Catholics”.

Actually, I don’t think most of us (at least those who contribute to these forums) could be described as “lukewarm.” We believe that Joanie Chichester and Richard McBrien and Thomas Gumbleton are in just as much error as the Diamond brothers or Novus Ordo Watch or Richard Williamson. Otherwise, we wouldn’t spend so much time arguing about it.

Well said my friend!
