I’m not sure where to post this question but here goes. It is said that the Didache was written in 80 AD. Is the Didache the earliest Church doc. If not can anyone steer to the earliest document of the Catholic Church… Many thanks.

Well, the books of the New Testament would be the earliest documents of the Church. The Didache, a catechism, is contemporary with some of those writings and is certainly one of the earliest that we have extant.

The books of the Old Testament were “Church documents” before any part of the NT was written.

The OT - Torah, wisdom literature, Pslams and writings of the prophets were seen as the authentic word of God by the earliest Christians.

Every one thank you so much. I love CAF especially for the knowledge that passes through on this forum. Thank you so much again—seems I have a lot of reading and catching up to do.
