The Divine Mercy Chaplet St Faustina

How many of you say the Divine Mercy Chaplet?

Only just found out about it after reading in a book about retreat prayers etc.

I am fascinated by it and would like to know what others views are on it.
 
I pray it occasionally. I think it is a fantastic prayer. Read St. Faustina’s Diary. It’s awesome.
 
Noticed it in the book ‘Consoling the Heart of Jesus’ by M E Gaitley

Looks like a real lovely way to pray to our lord

I read that book too! Not to throw your own thread off course, but did you like the book?

It was a lot for me too. Maybe we can start a thread on the book somewhere on the forum as I would be interested in discussing it with others who have read it.

Now, back to St. Faustina and Divine Mercy!
 
I say it now and then. Actually I began praying it before becoming Catholic and before I had actually realized I wanted to convert. In retrospect it’s rather obvious of course that I was heading in that direction.
 
Not started praying it yet. Will do though. Ordered a prayer card today to keep with me so I can remember the prayers!

Also downloaded an app for Divine Mercy for my iPad even though it is for the iPhone but it works fine!

I never knew about St Faustina until today! Reading about her as brought me to the Divine Mercy Chaplet!
 
I don’t say it regularly, but we always participate when our parish says the novena before Divine Mercy Sunday. I will say the chaplet occasionally especially at adoration. It is very comforting.

😃 I never answered your original question.

Yes, I try to pray it every day. Souls today are in desperate need of His Mercy. Many die sudden and unprovided deaths. If I can help in any way to save souls, I will do so.
 
I say the Divine Mercy chaplet a few times a week. I like to picture Our Lord on the Cross while saying it.

I have been reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet at the end of my weekly hour of adoration.My hour is finished at 3:00,so I thought this would be a beautiful way to conclude it.😉

Oh I agree! I do not have a scheduled hour currently, but stop in almost every day on my way to work to prepare myself for the day!

I do too. The prayers invoke such a clear and powerful image. It is such a perfect prayer. The Father loves His Son; Christ is the perfect sacrifice. All the mercy and grace we receive is because of Him.

The times I’ve prayed it have filled my heart with such joy afterward. 🙂
 
I started praying the Divine Mercy about two years ago. I even set my phone alarm to remind me when it was 3 o’clock. I was dedicated about praying it everyday for awhile. Now I find myself just thanking Jesus for His dying on the cross for us. Lent is coming soon, maybe I can get rededicated. I need to.
 
It’s a great prayer. I would like to say it more often. I find that when I’m really feeling needy, this is the prayer I run to.
The diary is a great read also, although it took some patience for me at the beginning.
 
I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 PM in honor of the death of Jesus and for the conversion of sinners.
 
On weekdays, I like to say the Chaplet at 3:00 pm with the EWTN program. The Chaplet is sung in a traditional “chant” form. (It is available in both CD and DVD formats.) If you like a sung version, but prefer something other than chant, there are a few versions out there.

I believe this is arguably the most powerful prayer that the Lord has given us. It promises so many wonderful graces! Just look at the Novena of Chaplets that Jesus encourages us to say, and Divine Mercy Sunday, instituted by the “Pope of Mercy”, JPII. You might visit the website of The Marians of the Immaculate Conception in Stockbridge, MA, the home of the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy:

They have a ton of information about the devotion. Also, I suggest that if you want to read St. Faustina’s Diary, read a bit of her biography first. I liked “The Life of Faustina Kowalska” by Sister Sophia Michalenko. It is an easy read, and helps to figure out the times, places and people that Faustina writes about in the Diary. (Sometimes she can be a little confusing. 🙂 )
