Brothers and Sisters, please don’t forget that today begins the Divine Mercy Novena! Please pray as Jesus requested a Chaplet of Divine Mercy each day for all of the groups of souls as He requested.

If you don’t know how to pray the Chaplet

Information about the Novena.

Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which would begin on Good Friday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena, saving for the last day the most difficult intention of all, the lukewarm and indifferent of whom He said:
“These souls cause Me more suffering than any others; it was from such souls that My soul felt the most revulsion in the Garden of Olives. It was on their account that I said: ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by.’ The last hope of salvation for them is to flee to My Mercy.”
In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her:
“On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy … On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls.”
The different souls prayed for on each day of the novena are:
DAY 1 (Good Friday) - All mankind, especially sinners
DAY 2 (Holy Saturday) - The souls of priests and religious
DAY 3 (Easter Sunday) - All devout and faithful souls
DAY 4 (Easter Monday) - Those who do not believe in Jesus and those who do not yet know Him
DAY 5 (Easter Tuesday) - The souls of separated brethren
DAY 6 (Easter Wednesday) - The meek and humble souls and the souls of children
DAY 7 (Easter Thursday) - The souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus’ mercy
DAY 8 (Easter Friday) - The souls who are detained in purgatory;
DAY 9 (Easter Saturday) - The souls who have become lukewarm.
During the Solemn Novena leading to Divine Mercy Sunday,
the Chaplet of Divine Mercy should be offered each day for the
day’s intentions.

Thanks for the general reminder, Gang Green! I almost forgot this morning, but my Guardian Angel is always on duty. I don’t envy his job. 😃

We just were introduced to this, this am. So we are done with today’s devotion, and we are looking forward to the rest of the days and hope to continue this next year as well. Thanks for the reminder and info!

AWESOME!!! THANKS FOR THE REMINDER. :yup::clapping::extrahappy:

Our parish has had leaflets out for everyone to pick up, and the leaflets and the novena were included in the announcements before Mass last night. 🙂

I have wanted to do this every year, but have always forgotten, so thank you for the reminder.

Now, to the stupid, first-time-I’m-doing-it question: Are there specific meditations for each decade of prayers? (I can’t seem to find anything except the prayers to be prayed and the daily intentions.)

  1. Thank you!
  2. There is a Divine Mercy app for the iPhone (not sure about other smartphones, sorry :o )
  3. How does one become an Apostle of Divine Mercy in California? Anyone who knows, please post it up. Thanks!

I have the Divine Mercy app on my iPod touch but I wish the app had a programmable reminder for each day of the novena. I actually set my Outlook calendar to ping daily for 9 days for the duration of the novena.

What a fantastic idea! Thanks:thumbsup:
