Hello there, it has been a while since I have posted here. A lot has been happening in life, at the end of the day God uses all of our experiences whether good or bad to bring about our salvation if we wish to follow Him.

I have been very attracted lately to the Divine Mercy devotion. I have what I call a contemplation/meditation wall in my lounge room where I lay on the lounge and just pray. On my wall I have a large picture of the Divine Mercy image. I have found lately when I have fallen away and come back to my senses, I feel the mercy of Jesus to be very strong through the Divine Mercy image. I also feel the same with meditating upon a crucifix. Another thing I have found is if I am suffering physically, which happens a fair bit due to my current health status, I look at the Divine Mercy image or a crucifix and I feel like I am uniting my sufferings with Christ 😃

The Divine Mercy chaplet is a blessing. Whenever possible, I like to sing it out loud. Then it really is moving.

Once I said it for a critically sick friend in the hospital. A short while later he passed away.
He was in a comma but there was something there that I knew he knew what was being said for him.

Blessed be God who comforts us in all our trials.

Thank you for your reply and testimony Fred 🙂

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is very powerful. I remember St. Faustina in her Diary saying she was saying it once whilst alone and was somehow bilocated to the bedside of a dying man where there were demons surrounding him and attacking him. As she was kneeling there saying the Chaplet, the demons were trying to attack her too, but she persisted in the prayer and they left and peace came over the man and he died peacefully.

+++ JESUS I TRUST IN YOU +++ The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion :gopray2:

The message of The Divine Mercy is simple. It is that God loves us — all of us. And, he wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy.

The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC:

A - Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

B - Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

C - Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.

This message and devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy. Even before her death in 1938, the devotion to The Divine Mercy had begun to spread.

The message and devotional practices proposed in the Diary of Saint Faustina and set forth in this web site and other publications of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception are completely in accordance with the teachings of Church and are firmly rooted in the Gospel message of our Merciful Savior. Properly understood and implemented, they will help us grow as genuine followers of Christ.

Spend time to learn more about the mercy of God, learn to trust in Jesus, and live your life as merciful to others, as Christ is merciful to you.

That was a great story. I’m sure it has happened more than once for those who use the chaplet.

I was on the golf course several years ago, and it happens sometimes I take my rosary with me and pray it as I go around. And if anyone wants to play better golf, try praying the rosary between shots. It really improves the game.

But anyway I was thinking that day of the prayer “for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world”. And the thought struck me that there is nothing that I could possible do that would please the Father more that whatever his only beloved son did. And I just suddenly realized, his son’s passion is more pleasing that all my prayers, fasting, charity, or anything else. And that to offer the Son’s passion in prayer to the Father is beyond all I could ever dream of honoring and loving the Father.

And then the chaplet became a part of my life in loving and speaking to my Father. Yet it is one of the easiest prayers to pray and sing.

I owe St. Faustina, and EWTN for teaching me to sing it.

God is indeed good.

I also have to report that for a while I have been contemplating becoming a Religious Sister if Jesus heals me. A lot of what is holding me back is personal fears and lack of trust in Jesus. I am thankfully making progress. For a while I had wanted to become a Carmelite nun (Which is still in my heart) but I have considered perhaps a more active Order may be for me. I have contacted “The Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy” in the United States
sisterfaustina.org/ They are aware of my current health situation but that if Jesus heals me I may want to join them. I received an email from the Assistant to the Vocation Directress, it was so lovely where she said to not give up hope and that she is praying for me. So inspirational.

So I ask all who read this to please pray for me that I may be able to trust in God more, and if it His Will, that He heals me, and if it His Will that I may become a Religious Sister.

Thank you kindly, and God bless you always in Jesus, Mary and Joseph +++ :gopray:
I will be praying for you also 😃 +++

I hope your dream and prayer comes true. And I will remember you in prayer.

St. Faustina did say that Jesus said that anything is possible with the divine mercy chaplet.

And I would recommend the consecration to Mary.

May divine mercy, peace, and love be yours in ever greater measure.

Thank you Fred 🙂
I have done the St. Louis De Montfort consecration each year on the Feast of the Annunciation since 2012, having done the 33 day program. I am in the process of renewing it again 🙂

God bless you 😃 +++

Some quotes from the Diary of St. Faustina

The numbers refer to the paragraph number in the diary.
  1. “Tell souls not to place within their own hearts obstacles to My mercy, which so greatly wants to act within them. My mercy works in all those hearts which open their doors to it. Both the sinner and the righteous person have need of My mercy. Conversion, as well as perseverance, is a grace of My mercy.” (1577)
  2. “Let Souls who are striving for perfection particularly adore My mercy, because the abundance of graces which I grant them flows from My mercy.” (1578)
  3. “I received a deeper understanding of divine mercy. Only that soul who wants it will be damned, for God condemns no one.” (1452)
  4. “I have opened my Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death.” (1520)
  5. “And I understood that the greatest attribute of God is love and mercy. It unites the creature with the Creator. This immense love and abyss of mercy are made known in the Incarnation of the Word and in the Redemption [of humanity], and it is here that I saw this as the greatest of all God’s attributes.” (181)
  6. “Let the greatest sinners place their trust in My mercy. They have the right before others to trust in the abyss of My mercy. My daughter, write about My mercy towards tormented souls. Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable mercy. Write: before I come as a just judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy. He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice…” (1146)
  7. “The flames of mercy are burning me. I desire to pour them out upon human souls. Oh, what pain they cause Me when they do not want to accept them!.” (1074 – paragraph 2)
  8. “Tell My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls.” (1074 – paragraph 4)
9.” There is no misery that could be a match for My mercy, neither will misery exhaust it, because as it is being granted-it increases. The soul that trusts in My mercy is most fortunate, because I myself take care of it.” (1273)
  1. “Today the Lord said to me, Daughter, when you go to confession, to this fountain of My mercy, the Blood and Water which came forth from My heart always flows down upon your soul and ennobles it. Every time you go to confession, immerse yourself entirely in My mercy, with great trust, so that I may pour the bounty of My grace upon your soul. When you approach the confessional, know this, that I Myself am waiting there for you. I am only hidden by the priest, but I myself act in your soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of mercy. Tell souls that from this fount of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity. The torrents of grace inundate humble souls. The proud remain always in poverty and misery, because My grace turns way from them to humble souls.” (1602)

On the Use of Words ~

I tremble to think that I have to give an account of my tongue. There is life, but there is also death in the tongue. Sometimes we kill with the tongue: we commit real murders. And we are still to regard that as a small thing? I truly do not understand such consciences. I have known a person who, when she learned from someone that a certain thing was being said about her, fell seriously ill. She lost a good deal of blood and shed many tears, and the outcome was very sad. It was not the sword that did all this, but the tongue. O my silent Jesus, have mercy on us!(Diary 119)

Pure Love ~

Pure love is capable of great deeds, and it is not broken by difficulty or adversity. As it remains strong in the midst of great difficulties, so too it perseveres in the toilsome and drab life of each day. It knows that only one thing is needed to please God: to do even the smallest things out of great love — love, and always love. Pure love never errs. Its light is strangely plentiful. It will not do anything that might displease God. It is ingenious at doing what is more pleasing to God, and no one will equal it. It is happy when it can empty itself and burn like a pure offering. The more it gives of itself, the happier it is. But also, no one can sense dangers from afar as can love; it knows how to unmask and also knows with whom it has to deal.(Diary 140)

Judging Others ~

I must never judge anyone, but look at others with leniency and at myself with severity. I must refer everything to God and, in my own eyes, recognize myself for what I am: utter misery and nothingness. In suffering, I must be patient and quiet, knowing that everything passes in time.(Diary 253)

Suffering ~

Suffering is the greatest treasure on earth; it purifies the soul. In suffering, we learn who our true friend is.(Diary 342)

Forgiveness ~

He who knows how to forgive prepares for himself many graces from God. As often as I look upon the cross, so often will I forgive with all my heart.(Diary 390)

God’s Grace ~

The Lord God grants His graces in two ways: by inspiration and by enlightenment. If we ask God for a grace, He will give it to us; but let us be willing to accept it. And in order to accept it, self denial is needed. Love does not consist in words or feelings, but in deeds. It is an act of the will; it is a gift; that is to say, a giving. The reason, the will, the heart — these three faculties must be exercised during prayer. I will rise from the dead in Jesus, but first I must live in Him. If I do not separate myself from the Cross, then the Gospel will be revealed in me. Jesus in me makes up for all my deficiencies. His grace operates without ceasing. The Holy Trinity grants me Its life abundantly, by the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Three Divine Persons live in me. When God loves, He loves with all His Being, with all the power of His Being. If God has loved me in this way, how should I respond — I, His spouse?(Diary 392)

Judgement Day ~

O terrible hour, at which one is obliged to see all one’s deeds in their nakedness and misery; not one of them is lost, they will all accompany us to God’s judgement. I can find no words or comparisons to express such terrible things. And although it seems to me that this soul is not damned, nevertheless its torments are in no way different from the torments of hell; there is only this difference: that they will someday come to an end.
(Diary 426)

Recollection of the Mind ~

If only souls would become recollected, God would speak to them at once, for dissipation drowns out the word of the Lord.(Diary 452)

Union with God ~

Now I understand well that what unites our soul most closely to God is self denial; that is, joining our will to the will of God. This is what makes the soul truly free, contributes to profound recollection of the spirit, and makes all life’s burdens light, and death sweet.(Diary 462)

Silence ~

Silence is a sword in the spiritual struggle. A talkative soul will never attain sanctity. The sword of silence will cut off everything that would like to cling to the soul. We are sensitive to words and quickly want to answer back, without taking any regard as to whether it is God’s will that we should speak. A silent soul is strong; no adversities will harm it if it perseveres in silence. The silent (198) soul is capable of attaining the closest union with God. It lives almost always under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God works in a silent soul without hindrance.(Diary 477)

Love ~

Jesus, You have given me to know and understand in what a soul’s greatness consists: not in great deeds but in great love. Love has its worth, and it confers greatness on all our deeds. Although our actions are small and ordinary in themselves, because of love they become great and powerful before God.(Diary 889)

Love & Truth ~

The quintessence of love is sacrifice and suffering. Truth wears a crown of thorns. Prayer involves the intellect, the will, and the emotions.(Diary 1103)

Prudence ~

Virtue without prudence is not virtue at all. We should often pray to the Holy Spirit for this grace of prudence. Prudence consists in discretion, rational reflection and courageous resolution. The final decision is always up to us. We must decide; we can and we ought to seek advice and light…(Diary 1106)

Patience ~

I have learned that the greatest power is hidden in patience. I see that patience always leads to victory, although not immediately; but that victory will become manifest after many years. Patience is linked to meekness.(Diary 1514)

Holy Fear ~

O Jesus, keep me in holy fear, so that I may not waste graces. Help me to be faithful to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. Grant that my heart may burst for love of You, rather than I should neglect even one act of love for You.(Diary 1557)

Our Lady’s Virtues ~

This month I will practice the three virtues recommended to me by the Mother of God: humility, (19) purity and love of God, accepting with profound submission to the will of God everything that He will send me.(Diary 1624)

Dear Christine 85,

I love the Divine Mercy Chaplet. We are so blessed to be loved so much by our Lord.

I wonder, have you seen this pamphlet published by the Marians of the Immaculate Conception of Stockbridge, Mass? Before each decade, you will read a few paragraphs about our Lord’s suffering. They aren’t expensive.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41K0NNND9YL.SY344_BO1,204,203,200.jpg
Saint Maria Faustina recorded in her Diary an excellent reason for us to contemplate Our Lord’s passion. Jesus suggested to her “When it seems to you that your suffering exceeds your strength, contemplate My wounds” (Diary, 1184,1512). This pamphlet will help you do that.
Contemplate My Wounds

But anyway I was thinking that day of the prayer “for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world”. And the thought struck me that there is nothing that I could possible do that would please the Father more that whatever his only beloved son did. And I just suddenly realized, his son’s passion is more pleasing that all my prayers, fasting, charity, or anything else. And that to offer the Son’s passion in prayer to the Father is beyond all I could ever dream of honoring and loving the Father.
Yes, this is like the Sacrifice of the Mass in the Holy Eucharist

I absolutely love the Divine Mercy too.

I got a little prayer book based on the diary.

One of the prayers I particularly love is:

Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbours’ souls and come to their mercy.

Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbours’ needs and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.

Help me, O Lord that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbour, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.

Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbours and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.

The prayer is more detailed than this, but I feel that the whole prayer is really food for thought.

God Bless.
