Is Dr Taylor Marshall part of the sspx type crowd? I always thought that Marshall was anti SSPX but recently I’ve noticed sympathises with this schismatic group, after watching a number of his videos.
 
He’s not an advocate of Catholics leaving the church to join the sspx if that’s what you mean.

What exactly did you hear that lead you to believe he was pro SSPX or at least part of the “SSPX type” crowd?
 
Well I observed that he interviewed Michael Matt. So I was wondering whether he sympathises or supports the sspx.
 
I’m pretty he is sympathetic to the SSPX and Catholics who attend the SSPX, however he and Tim have said that they believe the SSPX is wrong on some things. Based on that, I wouldn’t think he is an “SSPX-type.”
 
Apparently it needs to be said yet again: the SSPX is NOT in schism.

Michael Matt does not regularly attend SSPX Masses. He attends a diocesan approved EF. Marshall does not attend SSPX Masses. He attends an FSSP EF. Both feel some sympathies toward the SSPX for a variety of reasons, and Marshall (but not Matt) has stated that while he does not encourage sedevacantism, he feels for those who have chosen that path because there’s so much confusion in the Church today.

He’s welcome to his many opinions. I’m not sure why anyone would listen to them exclusively when he isn’t a religious or theologian, but… It isn’t possible for a pope to give faculties to a society that exists in schism.
