The doctors don't know . .

Please, pray for my brother. He is only 10. The doctors at Riley’s Children’s Hospital, perhaps the best children’s hospital in Indiana, found a while ago that his muscles were deteriorating. Yesterday, they found out that only 60% of his heart is working. The cardiologists there said that there is nothing they can do. The other doctors he has been to said that if he had come to them when he was much younger they could have helped him with his muscle problems, but now there is nothing much they can do but to try and delay the inevitable as long as possible. He has to have leg braces and a wheel chair. He gets tired easily. Also, he hasn’t been baptized and has only wanted to go to Mass with me twice. Please pray for him.

Ask your parents to have him baptized. He is 10, past the age of reason. Have a priest come to the house and teach him the meaning of baptizm. Read to him from Corinthians “eye has not seen, ear has not hear, nor has it dawned upon man what GOD has prepared for those who love HIM”.
Do not let him go quietly. Between your parents and the priest it will be his choice, but make that happen so he understands his choices.
 
I am so sorry to hear about what is happening to your brother. He will be in my prayers. I just thought I’d mention, also, that from what I was told in my RCIA group, anyone can perform a baptizm. If for some reason a priest is unavailable and there is need for an emergency baptizm, from what I was told, even a lay person can do it- as long as fresh water is used, and the person says “I baptize you in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit.” Of course, I am no expert- you may want to confirm this with a catholic apolgist or priest, but I’m pretty sure that this is true.

Lord please hear our prayers for Hayden’s brother.Lord You know his health problems and his family are very worried.Please Lord grant him healing and guide his doctors to have the knowledge and skills necessary to heal him.Lord he has not been baptised,but that is no fault of his we ask You to open the hearts and minds of his parents that they would choose to have him baptised.Lord please heal this child.Amen

St. Gerard, who, like the Saviour,
loved children so tenderly
and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death,
listen to us who are pleading for ZDHayden brother,.
We thank God for the great gift of ZDHayden brother
and ask Him to restore this child to health
if such be His holy will.
This favor, we beg of you
through your love for all children and mothers.

Amen.
 
Last week, a priest from the Fathers of Mercy came to my parish and gave two miraculous medals to each parishioner who wanted them. They had been touched to first-class relics of many saints, including Sts John of the Cross, Padre Pio, Thérèse of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila, Catherine Labouré, and Bls John Paul II and Mother Theresa. I gave one to my mother and the other to my brother, after I got a chain for him that didn’t have nickel in it (he’s allergic).

Thank you all for your prayers.

I talked to my brother the other day about being baptized, and he said that he wasn’t ready for the commitment . . .

I feel at least partially to blame for this… I had left Christianity (protestant) by the time he was three, and only came back (now Catholic) two years ago (confirmed Easter '10). So during his formative years, he saw me not being religious, and I provided an example to him.
