The 33,000 cliche is so tired and proven to be thin that it’s not worth replying to. The Dodgers stuff is just hilarious. You guys disappoint your fans every year pouring money into a franchise where most of the fans are gang-bangers. You went to the playoffs twice and lost your lunch. And I enjoyed every minute. And now it just kills you to see the Dodgers sinking. Hey, how about that post-all star break run eh? LOL… Here we are overtaking ya.

I was actually rooting for your smog-laden bums last night to beat the Padres so we could move on up but you guys couldn’t handle them. The one time I pull for your doggies they can’t get it done…

And if you look at those 55 years, we’ve won a lot of pennants, had a heap of all-stars, Willie Mays (need I say more), broken records, gone to several world series, and had a heckuva time. If you’re going to base everything off world series championships, then you also haven’t had a team worth a dang since 1988, right? I was in junior high the last time the Dodgers won one. At least we went to one in 2002. If you look at the history between the franchises, we have beaten the Dodgers more than they’ve beaten us. And the best way to win the argument is to say two words: Tommy LaSorda. Geez, dude, that’s an embarrassment! LOL

so tell me when was the last time the Giants actually won a WS? If we lost our lunch the last 2 times in the playoffs, you guys lost your kitchen in 2002.. LaSorda is the reason why the Giants never did anything so I am happy with that. The biggest highlight I see from the GIants was the “Giants win the pennant” and that was in 1950 something. You guys can’t use Barry Bonds highlights cause he is tainted Willy Mays I bet you never saw him play so what else is out there? You or your past generation has never celebrated a WS in Frisco so thats the best way to win an argument. Don’t bring out the past because its just blank pages for the San Francisco Giants lol

These are great quotes. I’ve learned from your posts, no doubt. I agree that there are problems in standing up for one’s faith; and most of us could certainly spend more time with our Lord.

As I said before, I can see how you might make a connection between the Apostles’ inability to stay awake and our inability or neglect to spend time with Christ. However, for me, the issue is not whether or not we should spend time with our Lord; but rather determining if Eucharistic Adoration is part of what Christ intended in His Institution of the Eucharist. Is the Eucharist to be separated from the “meal” context of Communion, and used purely for adoration?

You’ve given ample proof that from an early date the Eucharist was reserved for the sick and for the purpose of unity—all in context of Communion. I just don’t see enough evidence to justify making the leap to reserving the Eucharist in a Monstrance for people to gaze upon. It still seems to be an attempt to “capture” the Sacrament for a purpose outside Communion. There is something about this that disturbs me on spiritual level.

One of the only times I feel comfortable with the idea of something like adoration is after the Maundy Thursday service, where they reserve the Sacrament for Friday on a side altar and there is an all night prayer vigil. It is very much the image of being awake with Christ in the garden. In the church I attended when I first became a Christian, and the one I attend now, we used to decorate the side altar with all kinds of plants to make it like a garden.

Hahahah I am sorry I’am mostly a reader and I kinda figured that Crazzeto had posted that link but I didn’t bother checking sorry.

If you have Itunes you can go to the podcast section and look up James Dobbins he has great classes on Catholic apologetics and the Euchrist is also included in there and for free .

For me this begs the question, how is it acceptable in this case, but not the general case?

Well, I don’t think they called themselves Catholic, it was just the church…but if we look at their worship/beliefs or if we trace the history of that church they most resemble the Catholic and Orthodox churches of today’s time.

The reason a lot of protestants/fundamentalists like to claim their church was founded by Christ is because they ignore the liturgics of the early church. A lot of my protestant friends think that the early Christians sat in a circle and talked about Jesus in church

“Wherever the bishop appears, there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the catholic Church. It is not lawful to baptize or give communion without the consent of the bishop. On the other hand, whatever has his approval is pleasing to God. Thus, whatever is done will be safe and valid.” — Letter to the Smyrnaeans 8

This is a quote from the third bishop of Antioch - Ignatius - who actually knew Saint Peter and was thought to be one of the children who Jesus spoke to in the Gospel. He died in AD 108. If that isn’t proof that the first century Church wasn’t Protestant, I don’t know what is. Most Protestant groups who claim to pre-exist the Catholic Church don’t have bishops or priests, yet both of these are referenced by early Christians and by the Bible.
