Does anyone have any good books on how the early Church (from Pentecost to about the time in the 300’s where most people challenge the Church as being Christ’s authentic Church) was structured? I’ve read articles and some statements made by saints, but I would like to have as clear of an outline as possible so that I can better defend the faith. I believe we are the apostolic Church but I find myself lacking in a multitude of good material. Hope this all made sense; if it did not, I will try to reword it.
By the way, I posted this question because I hear a lot from apologists like Peter Kreeft, Scott Hahn, Steve Ray, etc. that they converted to the faith because they found the Early Church to be the same doctrinally as the Church today and structured very similarly too. I just never was able to find a collection of writings in one book to make it very clear.
