The Earth

The end of times talks about the earth being detroyed by fire. But the bible talks about a new earth after this. So is the earth going to cease to exist physically along with everything else or will the destruction be everything destroyed but life after the fire kind of like after the Flood.

If there is a new Earth then that would mean people are here and while there may be no more sin they still didnt make it into heaven. I just dont see how anyone could say the New Earth is Heaven when clearly there is a difference between heaven and earth.

The New Earth will be a part of Heaven, in the same way that ye olde Earth is part of the astronomical universe. Our world is but off from Heaven now, but will not always be.

The New Earth is needed because all of creation will be renewed, and that includes biological life. For that matter, our new human bodies will need a place to breathe, wiggle our toes, etc 🙂

I do not know whether our world will be destroyed and remade or simply refurbished; both are possible.
