Does the catholic church agree with the teaching explained below??

The elect of God are being called and will come forward in this last generation. Who are they and how and why were they chosen? We must have an understanding of the “Three Earth Ages” and that has been discussed on this forum. Without that knowledge and acceptance of that truth it would be difficult to understand who God’s elect are.

The elect are those that overcame in the first age. They stood with God and fought against Satan in his rebellion. He knows He can count on them/us in this age to again stand against Satan and his deception. For that reason the elect are of age in this last generation. There have always been elect from the beginning but they are termed remnant. They are those that have brought His Truth forward.

So…just as there are the majority of God’s elect living today there are also the majority of those souls that were on Satan’s side in that first age. We can see their evidence in our world today. They also are an elect of a sort.

Luke 13:30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last."

So…those from the first age are born last into this age…those being the key players in this discussion. The elect and the disciples of Satan, both of whom will take part in end times.

One of the signs of being an elect is if you feel that there is much more to His Word than you are being taught…that is God leading, guiding and directing you to do His will.

Because you are an elect He can guide you. He will not do that to one of the “free will” unless they ask. They must make the choice on their own while the elect are already justified!

Romans 8:29 For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.

They, the elect, are going to do His will. They are called, they are justified and glorified. They will stand with Him against Satan.

Ephesians 1:4 According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:

5.Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

The elect are those that God will use to stand before Satan…that is their/our destiny:

Mark 13:9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten; and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them.

11.But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

That testimony will bring many souls to God…this is just before Christ arrives at His 2nd Advent. When the 7th trump has sounded and everyone has been changed into our spiritual bodies…

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them; and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The elect, those that didn’t take the mark will be priests with Christ throughout the millennium. They will teach those that are now considered dead…spiritually dead.

5.But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6.Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Those that made it, are part of the first resurrection (God’s elect), are now immortal but the rest will be taught during the millennium and tested at it’s end to see if they also become immortal…or not.

The elect have a destiny.​

If “those days” are not shortened by God, even the Elect could be deceived.

Eph. 1:5 - Paul teaches that God “predestined” us in love to be His sons through Jesus Christ. “Predestination” means that God knows what we will do before we do it (it does not mean that God determines what we do; otherwise, we would have no freewill). Predestination is taken from the Greek word “prooridzo” which means to know or declare in advance by God’s foreknowledge. See, for example, 1 Peter 1:2 where Peter writes about the “elect according to the foreknowledge of God.” The terms “predestination” and “the elect” always refer to God’s knowledge (not human knowledge) because God is outside of time (and humans cannot predict the future). There are two types of “predestination,” to grace and to glory. In this verse, Paul is teaching about predestination to grace, which means becoming a Christian.

1 Pet. 1:1-2 – Paul teaches about being destined by God for obedience to Christ. This is another example of predestination to grace. But there is also predestination to glory.

Rom. 8:29-30 – Paul also writes that we are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son. Now Paul is writing about predestination to glory, which means not only becoming a faithful Christian during our lives, but persevering to the end by conforming our will to Christ’s will.

1 Cor. 15:49 – Paul writes that we are conformed in His image at the resurrection, when we shall bear the image of the man of heaven. These are the people who were predestined to glory.

Rev. 3:5 – Jesus warns that He can blot out the names that are in the book of life. This refers to those currently, not ultimately, justified (those who are predestined to grace, but not to glory).

Eph. 1:5; 1 Peter 1:2; Rom. 8:29-30; 1 Cor. 15:49 - therefore, predestination is either to grace (which we could lose) or to glory (which we cannot lose). As alluded to above, some non-Catholics confuse the definition of “predestination” (which means God knows what we will do before we do it) and “predetermination” (the erroneous belief that God determines what we will do). But God does not author evil. We choose evil by our own freewill.

If you allow for the difference in terminology it can be pretty difficult to get a gigarette paper between Thomas Aaquinas and John Calvin on the subject of predestination:

“The reason for the predestination of some, and reprobation of others, must be sought for in the goodness of God. Thus He is said to have made all things through His goodness, so that the divine goodness might be represented in things. Now it is necessary that God’s goodness, which in itself is one and undivided, should be manifested in many ways in His creation; because creatures in themselves cannot attain to the simplicity of God. Thus it is that for the completion of the universe there are required different grades of being; some of which hold a high and some a low place in the universe. That this multiformity of grades may be preserved in things, God allows some evils, lest many good things should never happen, as was said above. We are all the Elect in that God created us all to love and serve him on earth and be with him in Heaven after we physically die.
However, he gave us free will to choose that path or not. God has not chosen who will and will not join him there. His foreknowledge means he knows who has chosen him or not.

God has not chosen who will go to Hell and who will go to Heaven.

The Church teaches predestination, but Thomas Aquinas never taught double predestination as did Calvin. Claiming that God is the author of evil is a terrible heresy.

If you read Calvinist theology you will find that Aquinas and Calvin believed exectly the same thing. Calvinists don’t hold the belief you have just credited them with either. You need to be a theologian, with your hair splitting texchnique refined to perfection, in order to detect any substantive difference between them. (In fact anybody who does claim to believe that gets labelled “hyper-calvinist” by them.)

Neither side in the debate are going to accept that of course. Calvinists would be aghast at the thought that they could actually be subscribing to the theology of a major Catholic saint, and Catholics would be similarly aghast to imagine that Aquinas, of all people, could actually agree with that arch-heretic Calvin.
