The Enlightenment

The teaching of Jesus is not concerned with world plans but with the here and now. His primary concern was to condemn evil and injustice in the present not in some nebulous future. Jesus didn’t condemn private property but the injustice and the self-righteousness of the rich and powerful.
The ensuing political and economic systems are certainly pertinent to the question:

“Is my friend right by saying that the Enlightenment** freed **humanity?” 🙂

As Acapiteadcalcem has pointed out:
Very shortly after that, the optimism of Enlightenment thinking ushered in a new wave of pessimism and doubt; nihilist philosophers like Schopenhauer and Nietzsche are the direct consequences of Enlightenment thinking that tore revelation apart from human reason.

Acapiteadcalcem,

“from head to toe”

I think you gave me the most satisfying answer to my question .
