I dedicate this post to Benjamin J. Sassoon who died on Monday, March 28, 2011 from suicide (I was informed about his death from my local television news station and from a local college newspaper I read a lot called “The Diamondback”.). He was a student in college majoring in Accounting and Finance. He was 19 when he died and was from Wantagh, NY. He was planning to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by the time he graduated from college in 2013. I pray for Ben’s soul and spirit as well as for his family and friends. Ben, you were a great person who had everything going in life and was going to do great things and go places and go very far in life. I am sorry that your life was cut unexpectedly under these circumstances that you went through and I am also sorry that you were unable to share the pain that was troubling you. I want you to know that you are loved by your family, friends, and those who did not get a chance to meet you nor get to know you. Ben, I really care about you. I pray for you from time to time and I think about you and talk to you from time to time. I know that you are happy in heaven and watching over everyone either it is in Wantagh, NY, College Park, MD, and/or everywhere else. Ben, rest in peace. I want you to know that. You will be missed, but you will not be forgotten and you will be remembered in all of our hearts each and everyday. I hope to see you someday in Heaven. You are and still loved by all and you are and still be remembered by all. You are and still liked by all. I love you. I want to you know that I really care about you and love you very much. I wish that I had gotten a chance to get to know the amazing, good, nice, extraordinary person that you are and be a friend to you. I hope in Heaven that I will have a chance in getting to know you and be a friend. You are a good person. Rest in peace.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Incline, O Lord, Thine ear to our prayers, in which we humbly beseech
Thy mercy, that Thou wouldst place the soul of Thy servant, which Thou
hast caused to depart from this world, into the region of peace and light;
and unite in the fellowship of Thy Saints. Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Into your hands, O Lord we humble entrust our brother Benjamin J. Sassoon. In
this life you embraced him with your tender love; deliver him
now from every evil and bid him enter eternal rest.
Welcome him then into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no
weeping nor pain, but the fullness of peace and joy. Amen.
Almighty Father, eternal God, hear our prayers for Your son, Benjamin J. Sassoon whom You have called from this life to Yourself. Grant him light, happiness, and peace. Let him pass in safety through the gates of death, and live forever with all Your saints in the light You promised to Abraham and to all his descendants in faith. Guard him from all harm and on that great day of resurrection and reward raise him up with all Your saints. Pardon his sins and give him eternal life in Your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty Eternal God, in Your fatherly goodness, be kind to the soul of Your servant, Benjamin J. Sassoon. Cleanse him whom You have called from this world of all his faults, take him into the Realm of Light and Peace and into the Community of Your Saints, and give him his share of Eternal Delight in Your Kingdom. God, You Creator and Savior of all the faithful, forgive all the sins of all Your servants’ souls. Let them receive forgiveness through our pious prayer, for which they have always been yearning. For this we pray through Jesus, Our Lord. Amen.
O Lord, You always love to distribute Mercy and Graces. For this reason, I never cease asking of You to think of the souls of Your servants whom You have taken from this world. Do not leave them under the power of the enemy and do not ever forget them. Order Your Holy Angels to take and lead them to their heavenly home. They hoped for You, they believed in You. So do not let them endure the punishments of Purgatory, but let them have the Eternal Joys. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
God of faithfulness, in Your wisdom You have called Your servant, Benjamin J. Sassoon out of this world; release him from the bonds of sin, and welcome him into Your Presence, so the he may enjoy eternal light and peace and be raised up in glory with all Your saints. Amen.
Lord our God, the death of Benjamin J. Sassoon recalls our human condition and the brevity of our lives on earth. But for those who believe in Your love, death is not the end, nor does it destroy the bonds that You forge in our lives. We share the faith of Your Son’s disciples and the hope of the children of God. Bring the light of Christ’s resurrection to this time of testing and pain as we pray for Benjamin J. Sassoon and for those who love him, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, hear our prayers; in Your mercy, bring us to Your place of peace and light the soul of Your servant Benjamin J. Sassoon, whom You have summoned from this world. Call him/her/them to be numbered in the fellowship of Your saints. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
God, lover of souls, You hold dear what You have made and spare all things, for they are Yours. Look gently upon Your servant Benjamin J. Sassoon, and by the Blood of the cross forgive his sins and failings. Remember the faith of those who mourn and satisfy their longing for that day when all will be made new again in Christ, our risen Lord, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen.
