A Prayer for the Forgotten Dead

O merciful God,
take pity on those souls
who have no particular friends and intercessors
to recommend them to Thee; and who,
either through the negligence of those who are alive,
or through length of time, are forgotten
by their friends and by all.

Spare them, O Lord,
and remember Thine own Mercy,
when others forget to appeal to it.
Let not the souls which Thou hast created
be parted from Thee, their Creator.

May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

O Lord, Who art ever merciful and bounteous with Thy gifts, look down upon the suffering souls in purgatory. Remember not their offenses and negligences, but be mindful of Thy loving mercy, which is from all eternity. Cleanse them of their sins and fulfill their ardent desires that they may be made worthy to behold Thee face to face in Thy glory. May they soon be united with Thee and hear those blessed words which will call them to their heavenly home: **“Come, blessed of My Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” **
 
Lost my grandmother to cancer today. She has suffered for a long time, so today is bittersweet for me.
I am on the other side of the globe, so I won’t be able to make it to the funeral. 😦
My parents are on their way, and I am asking prayers for my grandma’s soul and also for my mother’s well being.
Please keep us all in prayers.

OF A LOVED ONE

Saints of God, come to her aid!
Come to meet her, angels of the Lord!
Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High.

May Christ, Who called you, take you to Himself;
may angels lead you to Abraham’s side.
Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High.

Give her eternal rest, O Lord,
and may Your light shine upon her forever.
Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High.

Let us pray: We commend our sister, to you, Lord.
Now that she has passed from this life,
may she live on in Your presence.
In Your mercy and love, forgive whatever sins she
may have committed through human weakness.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

A man died on the 17th of January 2014. I don’t know much about him and I haven’t met him in person. He has been convicted two times and I am afraid he died in prison 😦 I have no idea how many people have prayed for his soul, if any. We were somehow related, unfortunately we never met. Please pray for. G. P. who recently gave birth to twins at 22 weeks. Sadly the twins passed away. Please keep the family in your prayers they are having a very difficult time dealing with this devastating loss.
Oh Lord let your perpetual light shine upon these precious baby boys as you welcome them back into your kingdom. Please allow those who are trying to comfort this family to have the wisdom and the right words to bring comfort to this family who is absolutely devastated. Amen.

To You, O Lord,
we humbly entrust these children
so precious in Your sight.
Take them into Your arms
and welcome them into paradise,

no weeping nor pain,

Prayer for the Most Neglected Souls

Jesus, for the sake of the agony that You endured during Your fear of death in the Garden of Gethsemane, at the Scourging and Crowning, on the way to Mt. Calvary, at Your Crucifixion and at Your Death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory and especially on those who are completely forgotten! Deliver them from their bitter pains, call them to You and embrace them in Your Arms in Heaven!

Please pray for my grandmother’s soul. She was always a huge part of my life and the lives of my children too. She passed away from lung cancer this morning, and my grandfather is struggling. Please pray that all of our family will have the graces we need to support him, and please pray for the repose of her soul. Many thanks.

My condolences to you, your grandfather and all your family. You have my prayers…

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the soul of Thy departed servant the full remission of all her sins, that through our pious supplications she may obtain that pardon which she has always desired, Thou Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

Praying on this 25th anniversary of her death for the repose of the soul of Mary Lou, my husband’s first wife and the mother of the four children we raised together. Thanks be to God, they are all married in the church to devout Catholics. May they continue to walk in the truth.
