O my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires of hell,
Lead all souls to Heaven,
Especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

Amen.

Is it lack of faith or just that we miss the people we love so much that hurts?

I keep wanting a sign to know my MOM is ok. is that ridiculous?

Not ridiculous at all: it’s called being human. I believe that some of us here on earth can be blessed with a sign, but for the rest of us, we must pray pray pray for our departed. Remember, while the Holy Souls cannot pray for themselves, they can pray for us. They hear our needs and will intercede for us. How grateful a soul must be if we are an instrument in his being released from Purgatory! :heaven:

A Prayer for the Forgotten Dead

O merciful God,
take pity on those souls
who have no particular friends and intercessors
to recommend them to Thee; and who,
either through the negligence of those who are alive,
or through length of time, are forgotten
by their friends and by all.

Spare them, O Lord,
and remember Thine own Mercy,
when others forget to appeal to it.
Let not the souls which Thou hast created
be parted from Thee, their Creator.

May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.

oh NeedsMercy I thought I had a beautiful reply for you. But just when I was going to send it “Poof” it got deleted or sent into cyberspace.

I wanted to thank you so much for your compassionate reply.

Stephen

P.S. I was sent a post from a Father Steve about Saint Stephen being the first Martyr. I kind of feel that’s a sign.

Because I was told by my Mother that she specifically named me after Saint Stephen and am very proud and glad she did:)

Your mom must have heard you! Wonderful! Keep praying for the departed. Here’s a thread that you might like:

P.S. I’ve lost a lot of stuff to “Poofville”, too 🙂

O Lord, Who art ever merciful and bounteous with Thy gifts, look down upon the suffering souls in purgatory. Remember not their offenses and negligences, but be mindful of Thy loving mercy, which is from all eternity. Cleanse them of their sins and fulfill their ardent desires that they may be made worthy to behold Thee face to face in Thy glory. May they soon be united with Thee and hear those blessed words which will call them to their heavenly home: **“Come, blessed of My Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” **

For Tia Cruza who lived till she was 95. Devotee of the Chaplet of Divine mercy and human with faults, she faithfully recited your chaplet daily.

Receive her soul now O Lord and remember those she leaves behind, Tia Manuela, who is suffering horribly. Her elderly sister is gone and now she bears the weight of loneliness.

Lord Have Mercy.
Christ Have Mercy.
Christ hear us.
Christ graciously hear us.

Amen
