This is just barely new to my own ears and heart, but yet another young man in my life has passed away…vilently, yet with much honor. His name is Michael Shane Day. He was 20 years old, and just over the past year or so, had been turning his life around. He had a wonderful relationship with his father respectfully, but was now a young adult, and the bonding had been deeper. He was recently working for his father, and seeing them together more often was very special to all who had seen Michael grow up.
Confused, and a young child within a divorce, and going back and forth led him to wander a few paths with frustration, and a few crowds we would pray deeply for. On November 10th, this month, he was stabbed out side of a bar trying to come to the aid of his frend who was attacked with a knife. Young Michael did not see the knife comming in his direction and was stabbed in the back severing a main artery to the heart.
Stumbeling and trying to reach a near by police cruiser for help, he collapsed to the ground and died shortly afterwards. So much care was given to the safety of his young friend, and disreguard for his own safety. He simply did the right thing, and because of this, his friend is wounded, but alive today.
The funeral was on Thursday passed, and the young adults/friends/family mourners had a difficult time keeping their tears and cries concieled. All i could see was my young boy who had died three years prior to this nearly 19 years of age, is the life, gone from us…Gods plan that is sooo hard to see, but we must trust, that he called them both home for a better purpose.
Please pray for not only the souls of the young children, but for the ones left behind. Pray they find our lords peace and gift to endure.
Amen
