How do they coexist? According to the theory of evolution, death, decay, and disease was in the world eons before the dawn of mankind.

Is it possible to ban a topic as broad as evolution?

This is madness!

THIS IS CAF!!!

I would just like to point out that “The Back Fence” that was talked about above is another forum here at Catholic answers, and not an instruction to just wait until they finally decide you are allowed to ask it here. You might also try the forums search function to find old answers on the question of evolution and what the Church teaches.

Basic Catholic teaching **regarding Adam and Original Sin **is found in the
Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition, ISBN: 1-57455-109-4
Paragraphs 355-421.

The good news of Jesus Christ follows in Paragraph 422, etc.

One can put the word paragraph and its number in the Catechism’s search bar in link www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm
Entering topics, like Adam, is also very useful.

When you enter a paragraph number, like “paragraph 355”, and then click on the opening line, CCC Search Result - Paragraph # 355 you will see the following under the paragraph:

I can see why this topic is banned. It’s been done to death. And by death, I mean death before Adam/Eve, and that means billions of posts on the topic. And 90% of them by me. 👍 Since 2004 in here. Search the forums.

Basically the entire www.TalkOrigins.org and www.TrueOrigin.org or www.AnswersInGenesis.org and www.NCSE.com catalog has been posted in their completeness in the forums. OK I’m exaggerating a bit.

I’m dealing with the year 2010 and what Catholic Apologetics needs to understand when it defends the two, sole, true parents of the human species.

The human species is peerless.

In my humble opinion, based on posts during 2009, pre ban, this is the current dilemma faced by both theists and non-theists.

So, is this topic open or not? I am confused about this. And I don’t understand the “Back Fence” exception, if it is indeed one at all. Do separate rules apply? Are topic banned ONLY in certain forums?

Read the Back Fence Forum Evo rules…

It is open in the Back Fence forum and temporarily closed in many other fora, including this one.

The fora have different moderators, which I suspect is why the rules are different. The Back Fence has its own specific set of rules for discussions about evolution.
Are topic banned ONLY in certain forums?
Yes, the temporary ban on evolution and atheism threads only applies to Apologetics and its sub-fora.

Please note that the ban is also in Non-Catholic Religions – see posts in STICKY “Banned Topics Notice” at top of forum.
