The fascination with Theophostic Healings

So, I have spoken to about 2 people in the last 2 weeks who seem to be getting carried away with this new phenomenom that seems very new age to me. Does anybody have anything to say or enlighten me about concerning Theophostic healings?

Personally, I’m very cautious when it comes to such things as healing sessions. I don’t have anything against the charismatic movement, but I think Theophosticism stems from it…or maybe not.

Please, enlighten me.

It isn’t new - and is all around us:eek: You have somone that is trying to dress it up with a Christian face.

One grew out the other - New Age - Christian face and lingo - it deals with spiritualism, but claiming to be Christ Centered, 19th century theosophy had its roots in spiritualism. If you learn about the dangers of theosophy and it’s beginnings, you’ll start seeing all the different things that grew out of it, gnosticism, spiritualism, occult, all the 'secret" knowledge spin offs. Just a suggestion.🤷
 
I too, am trying to learn more about theophostic healing. Someone I know who is in the convent is trying this method of healing. I don’t know much about it. The person administering the healing sessions is also a religious and is studying to be a therapist, I think.
I did request that she follow-up with a professional psychologist when she is finished with the healing.
