Hello everyone,
Do you know of any good books or writings on the Fatherhood of God? I just typed an email to someone and I wanted to share it with you. I will be looking more into this subject. But if you know any good resources available please let me know. And if you have any thoughts on the subject, I would love to hear them.
Just today, the idea of the Fatherhood of God has popped into my mind. I think we have lost consciousness of this ultimate principle of God. We have lost the sense of responsibility of fatherhood in society. This has corrupted sexuality I think possibly more than any other factor.
Men have sex with women, with no intention of ever being a father. They have sex without taking responsibility for the purpose and consequences of sex.
God made woman not just to be a companion for the man, but also to give man the gift of fatherhood to sons and daughters.
When did our troubles begin? It was Eve who was first deceived, but who did God ask for an account? He asked Adam. And what did Adam do? Did he take responsibility? No. He blamed the woman. The woman whom he should have been protecting from the Devil. God asked Adam the question. Gave him the chance to be a man, and admit his failure, his disobedience. He could’ve said “I’m sorry, I messed up,” and the problem would’ve been solved. But he blamed his sin on the woman.
And now we come to today. Fatherhood and motherhood are seen as a curse, as a disease, as an accident that needs to be prevented. God forbid a man and a woman want to be father and mother!
I am going to see what sort of writings I can find about the fatherhood of God, and then human fatherhood and motherhood. I find in a lot of the writings and resources on sex, even Catholic resources, there is little discussion of the meaning of fatherhood and motherhood.
Do you know of any good writings or books on this subject?
Thanks.
God bless you all. Amen.
