The Feast of Indulgence, August 1st & 2nd. Any experiences?

Hi all,

So, as many of you will know, yesterday (August 1st) the Feast of Indulgence started and it ends today.

I found this short video by Friar Alessandro in which he explains about the feast. I will admit to not knowing enough about this feast before…

I wondered if anyone had ever made the pilgrimage to Assisi for this day. I would love to hear about people’s experiences…?

My wife and I obtained the Porciuncula Indulgence tonight. We also celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary! As an aside, I picked up the “Manual of Indulgences” (USCCB 2006) at the Catholic Information Center this afternoon. Very informative. I venture to say many Catholics are unaware of the meaning or value of indulgences.

So you’re actually in Assisi at the moment?
